Mike's Deli and Bagels

Great spot for a morning bagel run on the way to work. Fresh bagels, love the blueberry or the bacon, egg and cheese bagel sandwich on an everything bagel. Happy to have this spot here!

I've heard great things about this lil spot so I was happy to finally check them out. My experience wasn't too great, unfortunately. We came by on a weekday, and this place was pretty busy, but we were able to order pretty quickly. There was an older gentleman taking orders who wasn't very friendly or helpful. Since it was my first time there I asked him what were some popular items and he rudely said "well it depends on what you like"... Got it. It's a bagel shop with a pretty simple menu, so he made it clear he was not there to offer me any help and just to take my order.We had an extremely long wait for just two breakfast sandwiches and 3 bagels that we wanted to take home and enjoy. I think we waited nearly 30 mins. When we got the food my sandwich wasn't even fully wrapped and almost dropped out of the foil to the ground. The young man that bagged up our food stuff it all in one bag and tried to hand it to me and the bag almost ripped. I asked for another bag and another gentlman helped me rebag it. The food and bagels were amazing! However my experience here wasn't great.

While the bagels and style of Mike's is typical of a bagel shop in NYC or Long Island, I was a little frustrated with the service. Typically, in NYC, when you order just a bagel with cream cheese, the person who takes your order will just go ahead and make your bagel (that's the way it was done for the 19 years l lived in NY). It just makes sense. Instead, it was put in with the orders for people who ordered several breakfast bagels. As a result, I waited almost 20 minutes for a bagel with cream cheese. Typically, I just get a dozen bagels and take them home which is what I'll do going forward. It's not a knock on Mike's or the people working there because it's a great place with good bagels. I just wish they would change the process of completing simple orders.

I'm a fan. I was preparing to do my normal weekly grocery shopping and I was reading the ingredients list on the bagels I usually buy. I don't love them, so I decided to look up bagels in the area. I had seen Mike's Deli and Bagels on my way to and from work, but I had thought nothing of it until my hunt for fresh bagels began. My partner in crime and I stopped in to purchase my dozen bagels. We didn't get there until after noon, but they still had a decent variety left. Granted, there was only one chocolate chip bagel left. Yeah, I took it. Sorry! I got a good variety, primarily blueberry, which is my favorite. We then ordered a bagel apiece to eat there. I got the plain bagel, toasted, with lox cream cheese. Guys, smoked salmon is expensive. They did not skimp on it at all. See my picture for proof. We were greeted by three employees when we entered, and while they were busy, they made sure we knew we would be served momentarily. It was not much of a wait before we got our orders in and our food was ready fairly quickly. The trick seems to be ordering breakfast during the lunch rush and vice versa. The place is small. It has your classic mom and pop shop feel to it, so you may not get prime seating if you try to eat here. When we went, the Concord Fire Department was there for lunch--that's another sign that it's good. They took up one large table, there was a small table, and then another large table in front of the small table. We sat at the second large one, as that was the only table left. Not all seats were accessible due to the cramped space. If you keep your expectations realistic that this place is a hidden gem and not built for the amount of business it gets, you'll be fine.

I'd say this bagel shop is just as close to this bagel shop in NJ which is amazing!This place does pile a BUNCH of cream cheese for them stuffed bagel lovers

When you are in the mood for a good deli, Mike's is definitely the place to go! I have only ever ordered breakfast. But I have never been disappointed. The bagels are so yummy ...and anything you add to it is icing on the cake. My go-to is smoked salmon, a fried egg, tomato, cheese, and mayo on a toasted plain bagel. The restaurant is rather small and fills up quickly. But it is well worth the wait! No frills.....good food....what more could you ask for?!? Pro-tip: They have a frequent buyer punch card if you plan to be a regular.

Absolutely the best deli! Fresh ingredients, friendly staff, and amazing sandwiches. Highly recommend!

The Verrazano is my favorite here- scrambled eggs, turkey, sautéed onion and tomato on an onion bagel my husband had the BLT and loved it. We are new to the area but this is already a go-to spot for us. The owners are from the northeast so all the sandwiches are named after NY suburbs, bridges and kitschy sayings like "fuggetaboutit"

I have now tried this deli 3 times and each has been worse than before. The first two times the food was just ok, but the service was terrible. This time I didn't even get food before walking out. The girl taking my order took my first sandwich order and then proceeded to start talking to her friends behind her and literally walked away for 5 minutes. Then she came back and said what would you like....... Just extremely rude. I will not be going back.

Just stopped by on a drive from Charlotte to Raleigh and casually had the best bagel of my life They had such a selection i wanted to go back the next day. I'll definitely be stopping here every time I make this drive, still dreaming of this bagel
