My boss and I stopped in because of the wonderful smell of BBQ emanating from the restaurant as we headed to our Gate. We were seated quickly near the entrance and were told that we didn't need to scan the QR code for the menu to order as they had servers running around. The place was pretty packed with people at the bar and people in the booths and the tables. They had TVs on in there, all on the same NBA game.We looked over the menu and while I was hungry, I didn't want to eat something heavy I definitely wanted to get some meat from them. I got The Roadhouse burger (chuck & brisket burger patty w/ketchup, mustard, pickles, American cheese, lettuce and tomato on a buttery bun) with sweet potato fries. He got the 1930 Cheesesteak (Thinly sliced smoked brisket w/Boar's Head White American cheese, mayo andcaramelized onions on a traditional hoagie roll) with a side salad. We didn't have to wait long for our order to arrive and we dug in. My burger was pretty dang good! The patty was very juicy. You'd think that the burger was kinda small but for we it was the perfect portion. I ate that and about half of the fries and I was done. My boss ate all of his sandwich and the salad. He was thoroughly impressed with the portion and taste of his plate. Very happy we came and now I know that Midwood is a good place to stop in.

This is an unexpected dining gem that'stucked away in the bustling airport terminal. This barbecue restaurant is a true hidden treasure for weary travelers and hungry food enthusiasts. Despite the high-traffic environment, the service was impressively smooth and attentive, managing the rush with remarkable efficiency. The star of the meal was undoubtedly the brisket - tender, perfectly smoked, and bursting with rich, complex flavors that transported me far from the typical airport dining experience. As a first-time hush puppy taster, I was absolutely blown away. These golden, crispy delights were nothing short of incredible - a revelation in every bite. The house-made barbecue sauce complemented the meats beautifully, striking an ideal balance between tangy and sweet. For a traveler running on empty, this meal was precisely what I needed - hearty, delicious, and supremely satisfying. The bottom line is if you find yourself hungry in this airport, make a beeline for this barbecue spot. It's a culinary oasis that proves airport food can be genuinely exceptional.

So, if you happen to be at the airport with some time to kill and you are in the mood for some BBQ I have to recommend Midwood Smokehouse over some of the other BBQ joints in the airport. The prices are very reasonable. Design is roadhouse couture with lots of old fashion signs of the 50's & 60's. Service was quick. Paul our waiter was assume. We had the Roadhouse burger medium with BBQ baked beans. The beans had pulled pork mixed in which gave it an added smokey taste- yummy. The BBQ turkey plater had a very nice sized slab of turkey. If I'm ever back in Charlotte I would like to check out some of their other locations.

Had a layover flight in Charlotte. I was honestly kind of excited, because half the reason why I travel is for the food, and I haven't been to the Carolina in a few years. Without looking too much into the food at the airport, I was either hoping for a Bojangles or bbq food. Luckily this airport had both! My wife ended up getting Bojangles and my son and I both came here to Midwood. Coming from Texas, we had plenty of beef brisket, and when in Rome, we decided to both get their Pulled Pork Sandwich. The sandwich came with fries and was surprisingly really good. It was very filling and the pulled pork wasn't bad at all. Wasn't at smoky as I would have liked but overall not bad for "airport" food. This place will definitely be a must if I find myself in this airport again.

I made the trip down to terminal B on the recommendation of a fellow Yelper. I have a BBQ place i usually eat at in Charlotte. Since he travels as much as I do, I thought i would try" his place".You sit down and order here. Usually I don't have that kind of time but today I do. The service was fast, my drink was brought, I ordered my food and it was at my table in under 5 minutes.I had the pork plate with fries. The pork was good. They call it chopped but it is closer to pulled but it's good. The fries that came with it were old. Cold and hard.It was served with pickles and hush puppies. The pickles are fill and firm. Really good. Hush puppies were cooked perfectly, warm and crisp with a soft inside. The BBQ here is better than the one in the center of the airport. I would just say don't order fries.

Stopped by while we were waiting for a flight and ordered some quick food. I ordered the the nachos but with turkey chopped on top. Everything was good i really just wished they'd put more bbq sauce on them but other than that it was no complaints.

I was traveling back from Atlanta recently and had a layover in the Charlotte Airport. Since it was around breakfast time, I decided to try grabbing a bite at Midwood Smokehouse.Unfortunately, the experience was pretty frustrating. Originally, there was a pretty lengthy wait to be seated, which was surprising given that there weren't many people in the restaurant. The hostess also ended up being the one to serve my table... which wouldn't have been so bad if she hadn't taken my order and then completely forgotten to enter my order into the restaurant system. She came back 20 minutes later asking if someone had taken my order, and I had to tell her that yes... she did. She had to ask me all over again what I had ordered. When I repeated it, it seemed to click that she had, in fact, already taken my order (fairly simply - the grits with burnt ends, as well as the passionfruit mimosa. It's not like I asked for anything special or changes). Once my order was actually ENTERED then it didn't seem to take long to actually be brought to the table; however, getting the attention of staff at the end of my meal was something that, again, felt way harder than it needed to be. As for the meal overall, everything was oddly... flavorless? Even my drink seemed especially watered down. The burnt ends themselves were the only thing with any kind of flavor, but the meat seemed fatty. TL;DR I don't expect high quality food in an airport... but given how expensive the breakfast was, I would have appreciated a little something flavor-wise. I also don't really have anything positive to say about the service, sadly. It felt like pretty much everyone in the restaurant just didn't want to be bothered. It's one of the VERY FEW times I've ever tipped under my usual 20%. I was really torn between giving this place 1 or 2 stars... and the only reason I'm giving it 2 is because the restaurant appeared to 1) be pretty clean, and 2) the kitchen staff actually started singing at one point and that was pretty adorable. If they enjoy working together? That's a great thing. I just wish the rest of the experience matched what seemed to be the atmosphere in the kitchen.

Was waiting for my next flight and wanted some breakfast. Went into Midwood to give them a try. Ohh boy which I didn't. Of course I already know anything in airportsare going to be pricey but to give you a child portion along with the high price, Nooo. I ordered the biscuit and gravy and I promise you my four year old granddaughter would have still been hungry. I'm giving the 2 star for service. My waitress was very nice and understanding to my complaint to her about the food.

The service is very unprofessional. There is no indication that a patron can make a to go order. I get that most places are understaffed, however, be nice about it. A customer can only eat at this establishment as dine in. We're in an airport where most folks are on the go. Get it together Midwood Smokehouse.Other locations have been fantastic. This on 2/10
