I pass Mic's Kitchen quite a bit and I finally decided to give it a try yesterday. We did a to-go order, chicken cheese Phillies, buffalo fries, brussels, and the cornbread squares. When I arrived I realized there was a special entry to the side for take-out so I proceeded to the special entry. Upon entry there was a lady at the counter keying information on a screen, she looked up and said hi...I replied hi, I'm picking up my order. In that moment she proceeded to look down and continued pressing buttons as if I no longer existed. I was flabbergasted about what was happening so I walked to the other side of the counter and a younger lady proceeded to assist. Had I not paid for my food already I probably would've exited the restaurant. What a weird experience.So let's talk about the food...the sandwiches are huge. We ordered two, when in actuality we could've split one. The sandwich was decent but not the best, heavy on the salt but the flavor was lacking. The fries were meh...had I known what the Buffalo situation was consisted of I would've stuck with regular fries. The $2 up charge was not worth what I received. The cornbread squares were drenched in grease...I took one bite and I realized it wasn't for me. The brussel sprouts were the best item in our order. They weee cooked really well and flavorful.

Mics is a fabulous little hometown restaurant with a wide variety of menu items. There are multiple variations of chicken, beef and fish dishes that are sure to satisfy your particular taste. The service is friendly and we love the patio on Saturdays during lunch. Today they have live music! Enjoy!

Love this place!! Definitely needed in downtown Gastonia where there are limited options. Entire staff is friendly and often times the owners will bring out the food directly to you with a smile! My favorite is the strawberry lush dessert. and baskets are worth the money given the portion sizes. Fries are seasoned just right. I'll be coming back for years to come!

The waitress was very rude, did not bother to come back to the table to refill drinks or anytging just cane with the bill and said are you ready to go... food wasnt so good either I asked for no mushrooms and ended up having alot of mushrooms and cpuldnt even tell then becuase she never came back to the table! 1st time at this restaurant and I was not impressed at all. The hostess was very bubbly and friendly, but kind of turned me off when she introduced the restaurant as 'Black owned'. I wondered if she said the same to other races of customers, or did she feel the need to tell me that because I was Black? It was just unnecessary and meant absolutely nothing to me. I ordered a cheeseburger basket. The burger was not done on the inside. All I saw was pink. The fries were cold. The fountain coca cola had a funny taste. I took the food back and they insisted on remaking the meal instead of giving me a refund, so I agreed to that. The remake came out done, but flavorless. I couldn't even finish it. A $15 burger basket should've been way better than what I got. I will more than likely not return.
