This has to be one of the most underrated restaurants in the Charlotte area. But because since it's only been open a couple of months, I'm sure it won't last long. First off, we had the best server in ALL of North Carolina lol. Felipe was AWESOME!! He said he usually works at the other location but if you're ever fortunate to have him, you're in for a treat! The customer service was unparalleled. Now, the food. It was great as well. I had the ACP Ultimate and subbed the broccoli & zucchini for bell peppers and Serrano peppers. Let me tell you, that thing was good!The drinks. Don't even get me started on the drinks. I'm not even a drinker and I can tell you that you will not find drink specials this food anywhere else. And it's good too? Yea, just stop reading and start driving. Thank me later!

We love everything about this place. The location is ideally situated on Sardis Rd which is convenient to Matthews, the arboretum, and surrounding areas. They have a great selection of cocktails, especially margaritas. The food options are also better than any other Mexican restaurant in the area. I try something new every time. Service is great. Atmosphere is fun and friendly. I really hope this restaurant thrives here.

Went early on a Saturday for lunch. Was greeted and seated immediately since it wasn't crowded. Waiter came over and was very friendly and bubbly. I ordered the birria tacos and they came out, fresh and hot. But for the price I felt they were pretty small and not filled with a lot of meat. They were tasty however, but for almost $15 I would have expected more, or at least a side of beans or something. Overall I'd still go back because flavor was great and service even better.

We moved to the area and have tried a few Mexican restaurants and this is definitely our new go to. The food is great, service is top notch, and there's usually a solid drink special. Bonus: you get 3 types of salsas when you're seated!

We went for a later dinner and we were seated immediately at the bar. I got the jumbo house margarita and it was very tasty! The food was hot and spicy just the way I like it. We will definitely be back!

Visited Mexicali for the first time this evening - it will not be our last. Had a delicious ChoriPollo, cheese dip (standard white cheese but delicious ... esp w a little salsa mixed it). Was nice to get to watch the Olympics and enjoy a delicious margarita as well (def Is this still considered Emma recommend trying a combination of the jalapeño with either watermelon or pineapple...)Glad to have another yummy dining choice in MoRa!

Not worth coming here! Only good thing was the $20 Margarita!Vegetarian #7 with select veggies was too spicy, 2nd time without spice was better but not worth coming back for. Friend didn't remember what she ordered, but said it was not good. Some sort of bologna or something in it with hot dogs. Eeeew!!!

This location has probably been open about 3 months (maybe less). Since then I have been here at least 6 times. The staff remembers me which is a plus.The food is delicious!! Everything I have ever ordered here is well seasoned & made to order. They offer daily specials and the drinks are really good as well. They offer a tequila flight which I haven't tried yet but is very reasonably priced in comparison to other restaurants I've been to in the CLT area.When you arrive you get complimentary tortilla chips with hot & mild salsa and a creamy guacamole dip for the table to share.One of my favorite things to order here is Mescalis Best. I can't get enough of this dish! I love that it offers vegetables that I don't usually see in Mexican dishes like zucchini & mushroom. The chipoltle cream sauce is delicious. I would have it on EVERYTHING if ai could!! LOL Mescalis Best:Steak, chicken and shrimp sautéed with peppers, onions, zucchini and mushrooms. Topped with our creamy chipotle cheese sauce. Comes with rice and beans on the side.My friend, who is a very picky eater, always gets chicken fajitas at every mexican restaurant we go to. This time she decided to be adventurous & it paid off. Now she gets the Avocado Chicken EVERYTIME we go to this restaurant.You will not be disappointed with these dishes or this restaurant.

The food was pretty good and everything was fine until I pointed out to my server that I had asked for my plate without mushrooms when explaining that to her she said she couldn't change it because she would be charged for the plate which doesn't make sense to me which is why im a little disappointed in my experience but I would definitely give it a second chance.
