I've had the best experiences at the MACC! I have a running injury and have only been cleared for swimming and cycling, and being able to come here and swim laps has been such a blessing. The staff at the front desk are super friendly, the locker rooms are spacious and clean, they have a TON of lanes and are never too crowded, and they have a huge tub that is perfect for recovering in. They also have a small gym in the front with cardio and weight machines Perfect location right on the edge of uptown, and at only $45/month, it's a total steal.

Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center is a public pool available daily for residents and non residents. The name comes from the county which its in. The facility is in Charlotte, NC. Parking is across the street. However, it's typically restricted. There is minutes off street parking. The pool has long been home to high level USA Swim Meets such as the Charlotte Grand Prix. I have been involved in meets At Mecklenburg since 2013. Around 2016 the building closed for a remodel and reopened a year later. The USA Club team Swim Mac practices out of the pool. The long course 50 meter eight lane pool built in the 1970's. The spectator area spans the entire pool length. Prior to the renovation in probably would have given a three star, but nice strides were made. The biggest upgrade was around HVAC. There is also a bulkhead that can be used to convert to two 8 lane 25 yard pools. There is also an additional 25 yard pool used for warm up/cool down during the use of 50 meter competition. The Mecklenberg County Aquatic Center is a quality pool. They also offer an exercise area. Hopefully I will return in 2021.

Hands down one of thee best aquatic centers I've ever been too!So I found this place from walking my dog in the neighborhood. I ended up googling this facility and then calling only to find out it's only $5 to come here (Yay!) and the hours that they are open. I came here in the morning figuring that not many people would be here and I was right- it wasn't too many people here. There were more than enough lanes to swim however you are allowed to share lanes if each lane is taken. The facility itself was very clean, the staff was friendly..the patrons were helpful. This was my first time coming here and one of the ladies walking in offered to show me where the pool was and locker rooms. In addition to the lap pool, there is also a warm pool and a mini gym. Overall, I was super satisfied with this center and would highly recommend anyone coming here!FYI - Although they do sale swim caps and it is not mandatory- rule of thumb when doing laps is to wear a cap. It's keeps your hair out of your face and out of the faces of others that's swimming next to you. I say this because I was debating at one point if I should wear mines or not- I am here to answer that question for you! Wear a cap!

It's a very nice place. I come every other day. I wear earplugs because music is too loud in the hottub area and the hottub can be a little warmer. I wish that the largest pool area was a little warmer. But overall it is the place to be

A great value for adults who want to get some laps in. Check their website for closings due to meets but for the most part they are open early morning and late evening Monday-Friday with at least three lap lanes open in the main tank. Only $5 for adult Mecklenburg County residents per visit, there is ample parking in the lot out front.Large lockers and a basic locker room with no amenities. Bring your own lock for the lockers or store your stuff in the bleachers by the pool.Don't forget flip flops for the pool deck and showers. Pools are Olympic size and there is warm lap pool for cooling down that is less crowded. Enter through the warm pool for the HOT TUB.Easy access for my triathlon training and a good value.

Forget the hustle and bustle of the Y. [Village People singing] ~ It's fun to stay at the M. C. A. C. !!At the MCAC you can lift, run, bike, and swim without being a part of the herd.. The pool will probably be a little cold to some because it is kept at competitive temps and is deeper than usual.. But you will look passed that when you see how clean and well kept it is. There does always seem to be a swim team or two in there but they keep to their other pool and there are almost always open lanes for us folk. The gym portion is really cool. It as free weights, universal machines, stair climbers, various bike machines, medicine balls, treadmills, and a TV. The whole sha-bang. You cant go wrong. Enjoy!-Ian M.

Finally, we found a place that has everything we want! A relatively shallow pool so I can practice my not-so-good backstroke, a deep pool to swim laps and get that water cardio, a cool water pool with 6-8 lanes, a heated pool, and best of all, an adult-only HOT TUB!!The pool itself is really clean and the water is very clear. There were plenty of lifeguards around, and a group practicing scuba diving on one side. The warm shallow pool had a couple instructors giving swim lessons. I particularly liked having so many windows through which I could watch the rain pour while I happily swam in my heated pool and some cool artwork around the big pool. The hot tub is really nice. At first, coming from the cool water pool it felt too hot, but as my body got used to it, it felt great. They also have a fitness center which we did not try.The locker rooms are pretty decent for a public pool. They were clean, had plenty of lockers, hair dryers, and a tiny dryer for swim wear, which I absolutely LOVED.It costs $5 for adults if you are a resident of CharMeck and a family membership is $53 a month, $48 if you choose to draft.

Not much seating and if you are patriotic don't come here. Two days in a row a young black girl lifeguard walks around talking during the national anthem and the second day a young black boy lifeguard walks around talking during the national anthem. To each their own but I would not give this place any money if they don't support our country.
