So delicious! They made their Thai tea fresh every morning by boiling real Thai tea and half/half for milk. The combo was yummy, brisket had tender meat and some fatty parts meatball was cooked perfectly and filet was perfectly medium rare. I loved that they have a separate container for chili oil because sometimes sriracha can ruin the flavor of a good broth. 10/10, I crave their seasoned broth every week. Be patient with their customer service, they are a small business that just changed ownership in the past year and lost some staff due to lazy workers.

I wasted my money! I asked a few questions about the menu and ingredients and the young waitress had the worst attitude. First off the menu says grilled chicken, but it does not state what flavor the grilled chicken is so I asked her if it was lemongrass she said she didn't know. Next, I asked her if there was sugar inside of the sauce that you put on top of the salad. I didn't find my questions to be anything out of the ordinary, but she responded with the most annoyed and apathetic tone. Girl if you hate working there, maybe you should find something more of your speed instead of staying at Me Viet Kitchen, you are a buzzkill to everyone trying to support the local business.I had to ask her to go ask her coworkers due to my allergy needs. Her excuse was "I dont know the owner isn't here." Ok well you should know if you work there, because when selling food the vendor and the workers are responsible for upholding public safety standards and furthermore trying to show the best of the business. Like what are you doing there public facing if you don't like engaging with people? I don't care if you are the owners family, there is a state license and business codes that everyone who is employed should be required to follow. If someone went to the store with a peanut or shellfish allergy, I pray to God that they take it seriously because from the waitress's attitude she could care less about my questions!!!Ambiance- there's so many signs up stating you have to pay, it should have been the red flag...Now on to describe the food, noodle salad or Bun Thit. The plate was delivered with the fork laying on top of the salad, big no thank you. The grilled chicken was leftover and microwaved. The carrots which should be pickled in a tangy brine, were matchstick carrots meant for salad. The noodles were soggy. This was a poor interpretation of the Vietnamese dish. So much was wrong here tonight and I feel truly embarrassed for the owner and also saddened to see Vietnamese food and culture represented so poorly in an area that needs more diversity!!What they need to do to immediately to improve their public relations: train their staff on how to warmly greet customers, look their patrons in the eye, work on handling anger issues by firing staff who get upset at customers for asking basic questions, have the workers know the menu like the back of their hand, and really delve into recipes and food safety concerns to earn the trust of the public. Because of the low volume of customers, it may be best for the owner to reduce staff, and refocus on improving the quality of their food, reducing the menu, streamlining ingredients to avoid rotten food and making the most of the products, and ensuring great customer service.

Food was ok. It was $30 for pho with bone broth and 2 spring rolls. It's a hole in the wall charging BIG prices. I probably won't go back because it said my order was ready. However, when I got there, only two people there and they were limited on their English and it was just hard to communicate. My order was NOT ready. I had paid for extra bean sprouts in my Shrimp Tolls and Pho. I paid for extra hoisin and chili paste. It was like pulling teeth dealing with the them. The Pho was not seasoned enough but I DID enjoy the spring rolls. If you're in the area, and you try them, please let me know your thoughts.

I've lived in Gastonia for 3 years and thought I found a nice Vietnamese spot for pho. WRONG. 1. I called in my order and went to pick it up. No one greeted me open entering. The tables had leftover dishes from other customers. I waited at the counter about 8minutes before someone came to acknowledge me. (I saw my order sitting on the pickup area, so I could've easily got my order and walked out. If I was a dishonest person I would have since I didn't feel welcomed anyway) 2. When I picked up my bag and paid, my total was $34. I ordered 2 summer rolls and a bowl of pho, so I figured it was a high price due to the amount of food. 3. When I got home, there were 2 sets of summer rolls instead of a total of 2 and THERE WAS MOLD IN MY DIPPING SAUCE!! 4. I called to inform the owner and when I told him who I was he hung up on me. I tried calling back 4 times and the line went straight to voicemail each time; even after waiting a couple of minutes between each call. I will NEVER return to this place and I'm so sad I wasted my money with no compensation or accountability from the owner.

When you call in an order, it's not acceptable to see fuzzy "mold" on the sauce. Tried to call to let them know 4x and no one ever answered the phone. I'd like to go back and check the health score or have the health dept. go check their kitchen. They should have seen mold on this sauce when pouring it in the container.

The pho bo vien here is amazing. The meatballs are flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the broth has an aromatic depth that's unforgettable.

We only got to pick up some handhelds from here since we needed to eat on the go although I was tempted to get the pho. The bahn mi was delicious! Perfectly seasoned meat and fresh fillings. The shrimp summer rolls with the peanut sauce though were a little underwhelming.Service was great. Our food was ready reasonably fast and the whole process was simple and quick. Parking can be a little tight. I hope to try more food here someday and hopefully update my review with more details!

Stopped by this place on Monday after a long day of snowboarding. There was 4 of us and as soon as we walked in, it felt as if we weren't welcome. We got there at 8:01 and I saw that they closed at 9PM. Coming from someone who has served multiple restaurants, I get the frustration with "last minute tables" however, an hour before closing isn't really a big deal. Especially when the restaurant was a ghost town. The girl at the front register had a heavy attitude and she questioned me when I ordered the Bun Bo Hue. As if she was mocking the way I ordered it. Anyways, my friends proceeded to order 2 more BBH and 1 pho. We sat down and a few minutes later she aggressively puts down the plate of bean sprouts, basil and veggies for our meals. No smile. The awkward interaction made us want to finish our food quickly so we could leave. The Bun Bo Hue was actually pretty good. However, she left a bad first impression and we will most likely never come back.

Was in Gastonia and found this Vietnamese spot. It's a small place with bench style seating. They had 2 long bench table which was communal. The workers was sitting at the end of our table 2 seats away eating. Then two other tables. The staff seem like they were family. They were really nice. Now to the food. It wasn't the worst or the best Vietnamese I had. The Pho was fatty like I like it but it was lacking in strong flavor so if you like a light broth this is for you. They didn't give much protein. Was a couple of small slices of brisket and filet. A meatball that was cut into 4 and that was it. My gripe with this place is that it's close to Charlotte but the price was really crazy. 19 dollars for a Pho Dac Biet when most place in Charlotte are 14 dollars and below. You would think going to a smaller place in a small town would be less but it's not. Now don't get me wrong if it was knock my socks off Pho I wouldn't have minded. But honestly if this Pho was more like 12 dollars I would maybe edge to a 4 star but because of the price of all the food I don't find value in the place. If you are in Gastonia you are super limited for Vietnamese as this is the only place I know. With that said if you are dying for Vietnamese food and unable to drive down the street to Charlotte it will be do!

Visiting on a Sunday for lunch. There's only one guy working, running the kitchen and the counter. Phone is going off for what I can only assume is pickup orders. Ordered the steak pho, and the broth is just not good. And the serving of the steak is subpar. For the first time in a long time, I ate the noodles, but left the broth behind. I had even asked for no white onions, but they were still in the pho. I had yo fish them out. People were leaving because they weren't getting any service. They really need to have more people working, and make better broth. And once there's help for this poor guy, I'm sure the broth will get better in turn.
