McDonalds Family Restaurant

Yesterday we were driving by this location and decided to stop because they were so many cars there. Cute little building and the man working behind the counter was great. My husband had a hamburger and he said it was excellent and I had the barbecue sandwich which was also very good. We will definitely return.

Today I ordered my hamburger with mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, and pickles! It was delicious, and the fries were cooked just right, and they leave it to you to salt them. Mom had hers the usual way with chili and cole slaw. We did try the vegetable soup but did not like it. We are used to vegetable beef soup. The inside of the restaurant was still decorated beautifully for Christmas with their elf theme. The "inmate" as they playfully call themselves at the restaurant who took my order was very friendly and talked about all the decorations that had been up and they had already started taking down. Best hamburgers around!!

This is a locally owned and operated family restaurant. I've been here a few times to get to-go orders from their drive thru. I always call about 10 minutes before so it's ready when I get there, otherwise they will have you park and they'll bring it out. The workers are always friendly and the food is fresh. The burgers are a classic no frills burger. Personally, it's a little too well done for me which dries it out a little. Is it still a good burger? Yes. But is it my favorite burger? No. But those onion rings, SO GOOD!It is a Monday- Friday restaurant as well. Their hours can vary, so checking their Facebook page is a great way to be updated. They also do prefer cash and will charge a small fee for a card.

Great little gem in Bessemer City. Awesome burgers and sandwiches and amazing fries and onion rings. No matter what you get, you won't be disappointed.

Friday, September 2. Day 1 for our 3-day anniversary weekend. We called in our lunch order, brought it home & ate lunch while watching a movie. Everything was perfect! Chicken sandwiched were delicious. Fries & hush puppies were fantastic. I LUV the fried okra. Very generous portions. This place remains one of our favorite places th grab lunch.

I've eaten at this restaurant a few times and the food has been pretty good. The last time I was here, however, one of the people who works there was having a conversation with a customer, loud enough for everyone in the restaurant to hear, in which he was making a number of political statements of the sort that are very likely to offend anyone who's on the other side of the political spectrum. This is not a smart thing for anyone in the service industry to do that doesn't want to lose a sizeable percentage of their customers. I was offended and I won't be back.

Hamburgers onion rings fries. All were good. They have cherry fanta my favorite. Tim at the counter is always a good thing. We will be back. Service excellent. It's an old place but I'm an old guy so I'm good with it. If you like old diners then the ambiance is wonderful.
