Mazatlan Family Mexican Restaurant

We are from out of town and stopped in to eat a quick lunch. It was a pleasant surprise to find GREAT food in an unexpected place. The complimentary chips and salsa were AMAZING!! The entrees we ordered were fresh and hot...delicious and so flavorful. The service was top notch and our waitress was so very sweet and attentive. We had such a wonderful experience and enjoyed this place so much!!

Excellent Food! The staff is very friendly and give great service! We love the atmosphere of a relaxed Mexican restaurant. The icing on the cake is they are Christians and don't serve alcohol. There Tea is the best in town. We have been their customers since they opened close to 30 years ago.

Really enjoy eating here! The grilled chicken is usually always cooked well and the pieces are decent size rather than some places where the pieces are chewy and thin. The chips come out warm and taste great! The staff is friendly and service is usually quick. No alcohol sold here, so if you're looking for a drink you'll have to go somewhere else, but they have great lunch specials and the food tastes great!

We've eaten here pretty regularly for the last two or three years. Not often but always a good experience. Not sure if they have changed ownership or kitchen staff or are cutting costs but last night was a disappointment. Nothing had any flavor. It wasn't just me. Everyone commented on how bland the food was. The enchilada tasted like the burrito which tasted like the beans and rice. It was all flavorless. The best part of the meal were their hot sauces and the chips. Just really surprised and hoping it was an off night and that next time we're there the food is like it used to be - delicious. It does make me worry though - on a Friday night the parking lot was half full. It's usually packed so something's going on.

Easily the best Mexican food in Town! Service was outstanding and quality of food well above many Mexican eateries.

One of the factors in choosing Mexican food versus another cuisine is the thought of a tasty draft or even a deep margarita.You can imagine my surprise when the waitress informed me that they don't offer alcohol. I was puzzled. Nope, not even a bottle of Corona to be found.I should have said no thank you and moved on to someplace else but I thought maybe the food was good. Big mistake. The second factor for me in choosing Mexican over another cuisine is flavor. I understand that spice is not for everyone and especially in Stanly county, but for a Mexican restaurant to be so bland, why? The salsa had the heat level of catsup and I've had better burritos at Taco Bell.If you fall into the category of "likes hospital food in a dry environment" then this place is for you. Otherwise, seek elsewhere.

Great little spot in Albemarle and friendly as can be! The food is really good and the service was great. Fast for a place that can get so busy! Clean old school Mexican food restaurant vibe in here!

Mazatlan is our family dinner go-to. My gluten-allergic MIL trusts eating here, and she has a very short list of the restaurants she trusts!The food is always delicious, but the very best thing is the service. Every member of the staff has literally always been delightful.No alcohol here--just a heads up for you margarita drinkers! I'm not a drinker, so I think it's nice to have the calm atmosphere (no TVs blaring either!) versus the more keyed-up energy of the other Mexican restaurants in town.

Lots of tables and plenty of room. I have eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants and I would say the food here is just OK. I would be willing to go back but wouldn't go out of my way to go. They don't serve any alcohol so I couldn't get a beer or margarita with my meal.
