Maxwell's Tavern

Maxwells is always good. Def some of the best food in the area, clean, and always good service. I will say get there early or be ready for a reasonable wait. There are fun little shops to check out while waiting in the area.

First visit to Maxwell's and will be back.We went with the Patty Melt and the Black and Bleu Burger. Both were cooked to order and fries were also served hot and crispy.Service was also very good. The waitress checked on us multiple times and was courteous.

Came in for dinner with my family and we were hungry and ready to eat something good. Walked in and we were greeted by the hostess at the front. Asked how many in our party and we were seated right away, yay. Sat a spacious corner booth and proceeded to look over the menu. The ambiance was relaxed and very festive.Our server came over and took our drink order. Drinks were brought over and asked if we were ready to order. We said we needed a few minutes and our server said ok and quickly walked away. It seamed he was a bit short with us and I took it as a, whatever. He returned and took our order. We had questions on menu items and I would have preferred a bit more detail on menu items. APPETIZERSFried Pickles $11.50A Southern favorite, breaded and deep-fried pickle chips served with ranchdressing.Loved these perfectly fried pickles. They were prepared perfectly with a crunchy texture and the sauce completely added some extra flavor. I would order them again. Good choice and a great starter.Potato Skins $12.95Twice baked potato skins, loaded with cheddar jack cheese, bacon, and green onions, serve with sour cream. I liked that they were not just the skins but had actual potato. They were sliced in half, but not hollowed out completely. There were still lots of potato left and then all the ingredients loaded on top making it a good potato skin.FOODRibeye $34.9512 oz.certified Angus beef ribeye, char-grilled to temperature and served with a tavern house side salad and a choice of one side item.Cooked perfectly and not dry, good flavor.Flank Steak $23.95Marinated flank steak strip, Char-grilled to temperature and served with a tavern house side salad and a choice of one side item. Cooked perfectly, flavorful and juicySpaghetti and meat sauce $14.50Our homemade, slow-cooked meat sauce served over a generous amount of spaghetti served with a tavern house side salad and garlic breadSalad was a good size and vegetables were fresh.Spaghetti was a bit on the bland side. Added lots of black pepper and crushed pepper to add some flavor, it was better.Add we were getting ready to leave and boxing up our leftovers we put the salads in one bowl and noticed a stowaway in our salad. Employee noticed us looking at the little critter and asked if everything was okay. We let her know there was a bug in our salad and she seamed indifferent and began explaining how they have no control over situations like this. My thought was are you kidding me, I expected a different response. She did bring us a new salad, however, it's not what we wanted. We just wanted her to hear us out and acknowledge the bug in our food that we were eating earlier and could have eaten. Truthfully a 3 is harsh but..To charge 22.50 for a salad with a veggie burger that isn't homemade and was average at best not acceptable The service was awesome on a good note

Comfortable atmosphere, attentive waitress. Went here for lunch. I had the Tavern salad with blackened salmon, my dining mate had a cheeseburger with French fries. There was a 40 cents extra charge for a request for another little container of salad dressing which the waitress notified me about. My dining mate enjoyed his Tavern burger with fries Prices on paar with local restaurants. Food plated nicely, good portions. We would return again

I've been eating at this restaurant for 6 years now and it's never disappointed me. On a busy night, it's always been worth the wait and it's constantly delicious and a solid place to eat. The service is top notch. I've been here dozens of times at this point and have always enjoyed my meal. I love their salmon salad!

The service and food were excellent. Located right on Main Street near the "tracks". We were so hungry I did take photos but the Patty Melt and Quesadilla w/chicken were delicious. Nice old building and plenty of seating with TVs to keep up with the game but able to converse. Definitely recommend.

Met a friend here as it was the only restaurant in the area with something "plain" enough on the menu that I could eat... and I was pleasantly surprised how they worked with my current restrictions... Gluten-free marinated grilled chicken, delicious green beans cooked in chicken stock & fresh steamed broccoli that was steamed to the perfect tenderness!The chicken was AMAZING. Full of flavor. The broccoli even had awesome flavor (I had 2 servings!) and the green beans, while they weren't very "green" anymore having soaked for so long in the chicken stock, they had a good flavor as well.The waiter was attentive, listened, was patient and served us very quickly. The tavern is in an old downtown building with awesome brick walls that's both cozy, modern, and ancient all at the same time.Overall this place is probably your healthiest option if you're on a restricted meal plan like I am... and it was delish!

We ordered Maxwell's to go. It was ready right on time and we were greeted as soon as we pulled up. Food was hot and delicious!

We had a great meal at this very busy resturant on a Friday night. The town is awesome all lit up with Christmas lights. The restaurant was very busy. We had a tavern burger Maple cured wild salmon in a tavern Philly chicken sandwich. Everything was delicious. Service was perfect. There are many choices on the menu. We plan to go back soon.
