YUM - why has it taken me so long to visit this place!? Mariposa was a stunning experience from start to finish. The space is gorgeous and perfect for a date night or special occasion. We ordered a bottle of red, but I can't remember which one. It was recommended by our server and it might have been the Chianti. Whatever it was, it was delicious. For food, we opted for a number of small plates. With that said, they come out faster and as they are made, so keep that in mind! We had the Saffron Arancini, Lemon Whipped Ricotta, Tuna Poke Tacos, and Octopus a la Plancha. Each plate was enough for two of us to share, but I would recommend more than one order if you have a larger party. My favorites were the arancini and tuna poke tacos. The harissa spiked tomato aioli on the arancini was delectable, as was the truffle ponzu on the tacos. I think, for the quality and service, the prices are exactly where they should be (if not cheaper than they should be). I can't wait to have a reason to return!

We had a great belated birthday dinner at Mariposa before seeing a concert at The Knight Theater across the street! The staff are warm and friendly, and the space is beautiful - tucked right inside the Mint Museum uptown with plush chairs and luxurious design touches. We decided to share the Asado Experience with a side of the Grecian Potatoes - both were excellent (only constructive comment was that the potatoes could have used a bit more salt, and maybe serving the tzatziki on the side would have helped them be a bit less soggy). I especially enjoyed the Malbec reduction on the Waygu beef (which was cooked to a near perfect medium rare and came with delicious roasted vegetables). Our server also brought us a slice of chocolate tres leches cake with a candle, which was absolutely divine - somehow rich and light at the same time. Would definitely love to go back to try the lamb tangine, the duck arepas, the seafood paella and the corn fritters - all sounded amazing!

Mariposa is a beautiful restaurant with a fantastic ambiance, made even more special by its location inside the Mint Museum. The atmosphere is stylish and inviting, perfect for a night out. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious, with creative flavors and well-presented dishes. However, some of my friends mentioned that a few dishes were a bit on the salty side. The drinks were solid, well-crafted, and paired nicely with the meal. Overall, Mariposa is a great spot for a refined dining experience in Charlotte, and I'd definitely return!

Great brunch! Located next to the Mint Museum in Uptown Charlotte, a great place to brunch before or after visiting. The menu is a bit limited, I would've loved to see French toast on a brunch menu, however they did have pancakes. I dined at the bar, service was very good and staff were attentive and friendly. Beautiful decor with nice views of the Main Street. I'll be back!

I love that Charlotte has this place. Nestled in the museum on the edge of downtown, Mariposa truly is a butterfly. The menu is limited but curated with so much intention. I loved everything I ordered. The arepas were delicate but very flavorful, I adored my Bellini and my pancakes were so fluffy. I didnt try my Husband's burger but he had no complaints. This definitely on my Charlotte Brunch list for sure.

What an excellent addition to downtown and the adjoining museum. The menu is limited but has good variety and reasonably priced for the portion. The dessert menu had only ice cream sans alcohol which was disappointing. The service was great and the furniture and view were spectacular. Our Greek Avocado bowl was yummy.

I have not had a single bad thing here... ever. They have amazing tapas with a wonderful variety of flavors. Their craft cocktails are creative and delicious, and their servers are great at providing suggestions. Management has always been so kind when I've been in there. The ambience gives off a classy and upscale vibe and the decor is something I want to take notes for my own space! This is such a great date night or girls night place, and it's attached to the mint museum and other things to do in center city. There's lots of nearby parking decks to utilize.

Really liked this place! We had friends in town and this spot - connected to the Mint Museum - was close to their hotel. We sat outside and enjoyed the music from the arts festival. There was a huge wine list, which I was impressed by, and had lots of whiskeys and tequilas. Cocktail list was brief, though I bet they can make just about anything. I had their Mediterranean Mirage, which had an edible butterfly on top!We ordered some small plates and then entrees. With the shareables, I felt the lomo saltado was the right amount of food to split with a friend. Everything I ate was delicious, and I would have again. Our server was friendly and attentive. Location is good, not too far from the convention center (easy access from light rail) and right in the heart of the city. It's great if you want to dress up and wander around the museum or have an event nearby. Would love to come back for Jazz Brunch, too!
