Mario's Italian Restaurant

I'm not typically a fan of Italian food, but Mario Italian Restaurant completely won me over. The Seafood Diavlo was exceptional, with a fantastic balance of protein to pasta that left me impressed. It's definitely going on my list of recommendations! Our waiter, Travis, was incredibly helpful and added to the experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with just the right amount of natural lighting to make it feel welcoming. I'll definitely be back!

Fresh Bread! Great service! Family friendly. We love this place. It's not cheap, but the dollar value here is high for what you get. Well run and clean, attentive staff and spacious setting.

First time coming here and was pleasantly surprised! It kind of reminded me of a mom and pop Italian joint in Jersey. If we are back in the area, we would certainly come here to eat. Great service, the food came out quick, and the portions were very generous! The garlic knots were delicious - I could have eaten the whole basket. I also enjoyed my pasta order, and the half size was way more than enough! My kids enjoyed their meals (again large portion) and my husband had Stromboli to take home too. Overall, it was a really good meal after visiting a nearby farm!

Nothing special. Typical Italian restaurant in the area that has the standard dishes. No vision with dishes, bland and unadventurous. Maybe my palette and standards are different from others not impressed with food. I have tried them a few times including a family event held at location. Chicken hero's should have a full chicken cutlet/breast not chopped or sliced up to save on quantity while still charging top dollar. Seems to be a new trend in the area. Less food but higher prices. Local businesses not doing right to the neighborhood. Yes raise prices as everything is now more expensive but don't decrease the portion size.

Highly recommend this one! It was classic food and great service. From when we walked in, we were warmly greeted, smoothly sat and prompt attention from waitstaff. Attention to detail continued throughout and our food came out perfectly. Steak, shrimp, and pasta all excellent. We live in another part of Charlotte but will make the drive to come back!

Went here once...and DONE. That was 5 years ago and haven't thought of ever going back. We ordered a pizza and the bottom was burned BLACK. Called the waitress over and she said Oh..do you want another one? REALLY! First she called a Manager, I guess, over to see it. Then said that she would put the order in..and would you like to take this one home? Once again...REALLY! I told her emphatically no but said she could if she wanted to.

Some of the best takeout Italian we could ask for! The packaging and delivery service was clumsy because the sauce from the Seafood Fra Diavlo was everywhere inside the bag (minus one star!), but otherwise fantastic. We love coming into town and ordering from Mario's, it's the family's local fav and definitely ours, too. It's a good thing we don't live closer!! Maybe one day we will venture to dine at the restaurant, however cozy Italian with a good movie hits the spot :)Generous portions, quality ingredients, strong flavors - we've tried many of their dishes but these two take the cake! P.S. Mixing the leftover pastas into one dish was absolutely intoxicating for day two leftovers, just sayin'!

This is our first visit to Mario's, the service was great and the food we have mixed feelings about. We started with the burschetta, we loved that they make the mozzarella in house but we wished there was more tomatoes, balsamic and the bread was toasted but it did have great flavor. My husband ordered the chicken parm, the sauce could use more flavor, the chicken was over cooked and the cheese was slightly burnt and coagulated sat under the lamp too long. I had the shrimp scampi and it was on point with a slight bite. I loved it. We will be back to give it another go.

We have eaten lunch and dinner many times at Mario's because their food is consistently very goodand reasonably priced. Also, the service is first-rate--friendly and attentive. And a spotless place. It is a favorite of ours.

I ordered penne a la vodka to take home. While not bad, the food was unremarkable. It had very little sauce, and therefore very little flavor. The service was good, but the food was disappointing. I went on a friend's recommendation, so I'll likely try it again, but will order a different dish.
