Mambo Grill & Tapas is goes to extraordinary lengths to transport you right into the heart of Cuba with its colorful, festive atmosphere and its flavorful food. I came with a Cuban friend, who assured me that the flavors here are as close to authentic Cuban as you could get. Everything was savory and aromatic. Service was very cordial. While it's got good seating accommodations, it can still be considered a divey restaurant. FYI If you come during the busy hours and are stuck behind a large party, you may have to wait a while for your seats and food, so do be cautious about that when deciding a time to eat here.

The place gives you an authentic Cuban vibe with vibrant artwork and furniture! Our waitstaff was excellent and the food arrived very quickly given the fact we arrived with a party of 27! The star of our meal was the empanadas- especially the picadillo but the chicken were good too! The garlic cilantro sauce was amazing! Neither of us were blown away by dinner though-I had the Vaca Frita and it was extremely crispy making it hard to chew and it was heavy on a vinegar taste and over salted! The Moro rice was good as were the plantains! Hubby had Hemingway chicken and it was overcooked and dry but flavorful! We would come back for the empanadas!

We make the drive to Mambo's. Love planning a last minute trip to this authentic foodie joint. Been dining or having celebrations catered for years. So happy this family has kept Mambo's rocking.

Its been several years since I had an experience so wonderful at a restaurant. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're walking down a street in Cuba. The staff make you feel like you just sat down at a family reunion and the food absolutely next level. Every single bite on my plate made me close my eyes and pray that the plate magically refilled itself. 5 stars, definitely check this place out folks

We have frequented Mambo since they opened in their first location. We haved moved to another state but always make sure to visit while in town. They offer a full bar. Their mojitos are a favorite! The staff and owners are amazing. A family dining feeling. The smells are mouth watering. You can't go wrong with ropa vieja. It is like a stew your Grandma would serve you. My absolute FAVORITE is yuca con mojo. The yuca texture is just right, not mushy. The mojo flavor and fresh garlic; chef's kiss. A must try when in Salisbury.

On the drive home from Outer Banks we were in the mood for some Cuban food. Just as we were approaching Salisbury, this place came up. We are so glad we found it. We started with each having Mojitos (though they were very good; they could have had a little more alcohol). For appetizers we had the Puerco Asado Tostones (real good). For entrees the wife had large Sopa de Pollo (and it was large indeed; with plenty of chicken and sliced corn on the cob). I had the Vaca frita with white rice and black beans (super good and well seasoned). We thought of having dessert but we couldn't eat any more. The service was great and the restaurant is nicely done with murals to make you feel like you are in an old Havana street. Very nice, we will bookmark it for the next time we in the area to stop again. Highly recommend!

I'm from Miami and oh my gosh!! Best Vacca Frita ever! Their empanadas are AMAZING too. The ambiance is great with the paintings of Cuba. We aren't from the area unfortunately but when we return we'll definitely be back. If I could give 6 stars would.

We came in at 7pm. We left at 8:40. While I will preface with this. We did come in at a busy hour. There was a party of maybe 25 so people before us. That is the only reason why our food took as long as it did.All the food was cooked well and to a delicious degree. One of us ordered the pollo milanésa and boy, when I tell you that this dish was good. I've gone to several restaurants but this one might just take the cake. Crispy, well seasoned chicken that kept its texture and juiciness, a layer of cooked ham and a lot of melted cheese. That was GOOD. I personally had the Cuban Sandwich without the slow roasted pork. Still good and the home made chips are crispy and add a great touch. Our server was amazing and despite the huge order through the kitchen, they still made sure we were well attended. Props to them, they did great! Their dangly earrings were pretty cool too.

This restaurant will change your mind on food. They're only open fri-Sunday and a reservation is recommended but it's a must if you are around Salisbury. The best Cuban food I've ever had!Cocktails are great, but the plantain temptation and the vaca frita will have you making bedroom noises at the table.
