The kitchen/house play area. Not a lot of items to use - or many are out of reach for any kid.
Kitchen play area. Kind of bare.
Upstairs food area
The train area is a big hit!
The old bank vault serves as a costume area. Your kid can become a pirate, a princess or even a pirate princess!
This kitchen is nicer than mine!
Small but great!
The ship is great! Kids love it!
An almost hidden gem on E. Main.

It's ok. I'll leave it at that. It's a lot smaller than I expected and there really wasn't too much to do. I think the best age for this museum is under 3. My 4 year old got bored pretty quickly. There also just wasn't a lot to do. There is a dress up area, but it only had a few items, same with the kitchen and pirate ship. I have to agree with another reviewer that the staff wasn't friendly. They were more concerned with everything getting cleaned up. iI's a children's museum - there's supposed to be a level of mess, but when a kid puts a doll at the table and then goes to the kitchen area and you put the doll back, maybe think "was that kid getting food to play feed the doll?"and not assume they were leaving it. Also, parents - there's an overpriced gift/toy section in the front that you can't avoid. Bright side - there's some fun lunch and treat spots close by.

Drove 40min on a Tuesday morning only to find that it's closed for a private event. It was our first time visiting, I wanted to get tickets online but I missed the cutoff time frame, website stated that walk in tickets can be purchased before 11am and we rushed out of the house to get there before 11. Needless to say, my 3 and 4 year old were crying in the back seat not knowing why it's closed and we drove all this way. It should have been posted on the website that it was closed to the public that day.

Visit: first timeTotal: $500 (Sunday afternoon birthday party rental)Party Mix: 13A, 4C (ages: 1, 2, 4, 6)I was planning a birthday party and came across this location. I was very interested, however, it was challenging to get an idea of what this place had to offer. There weren't that many pictures and there were some negative reviews that made me hesitant.Ultimately, I still reached out and secured a Sunday. I was traveling from California and really had no other way to prepare or investigate or visit until I got into town. I had minimal to no expectations.I walked in and I was so impressed. The place was so cute and bigger than I thought. There was a little sign at the entrance (and throughout the location) that had the birthday kid's name. There's an upstairs area where you can have your food items. I schlepped a bunch of decorations with me because I had no idea if it was just hospital walls or what (it wasn't). We had a great time! My personal favorite was the air maze. The 1yo spent all of their time in the pumpkin house. The 2/4/6yos had a great time playing dress up and using their imaginations all around the museum.I would absolutely plan another birthday party here!

For toddlers and small children under ten.I've been to many children's museums and this was easily the best one for toddlers and the wallet. It is small, but very clean and very affordable. The cost is $5 per person and free during the summer for active duty military families. This place is clean and organized, and the attentive staff makes sure of it, continually cleaning up so that all kids may enjoy it regardless of when they show up. There's even buckets to place toys that children chew on!There are several areas including a costume vault, a treehouse, a ship that you can climb on, a kitchen, a puppet area and a reading room. This place is small but you could spend hours here. Lots of hands-on activities that help kids develop tactilely and teach creativity and interaction. Great place!

We were looking for a great place for our 2 year old daughter to place. We didn't want anything too expensive since we knew she'd only last about an hour tops. I found this place on Yelp and it had great ratings. The price was really reasonable ($6 per person). It wasn't quite the size I expected for a museum but it was a fun place for my daughter to play around. There were various spots within the museum: kitchen, pirate ship, costume vault, a huge train table, treehouse. It's a very spacious play area. Definitely appropriate for kids under 5 years old. It wasn't super crowded so my daughter was able to play with just about any station at any time. Since it was fairly spacious, it was easy for another adult to follow his/her kid around without hitting his/her head. The staff was really nice and gave us a little history about the museum. Supposedly, the artist who came up with Snap Crackle and Pop also did a lot of other artwork for the museum. They didn't have a lot of costume choices but my daughter definitely wanted a pirate hat after we finished playing. I do like the idea of just paying $6, leaving for an hour or so and being able to come back the same day without paying a second time. There are a few things you can purchase in their little store (costumes, hats, toys, balls, etc). There's 2 hour free parking close by so you don't have to park on the street. There are also a few places to eat within walking distance like sandwiches. This is a very big playground that has plenty of options for little kids. I think this would be perfect for locals who don't want to go to crazy busy mall playgrounds. If you're a tourist who's looking for a kid-friendly environment without having to walk around a big place for an hour, this is the place.

This was NOT a good experience. Adults have to pay to get in and stand to the side... I say this because I tried to play with my nieces and the staff were rude. When the kids got excited, they would get shushed. The kids got sick of the place pretty quick as well.

Children's play place in downtown rock hill. Museum is in its title, but it's more of a play place with multiple little areas for children to play at. We maintain an annual membership which also gets you into historic brattonsville and the museum of York county. This place is small but rarely packed. It's a nice little stop in downtown if you have kids. With the library, restaurants, and the fountain nearby, you could easily make a day of visiting downtown rock hill.

Love this place! We practice Montessori teaching style and home and my 2 year old felt right at home at this place. All their areas are so neat and they allow for good social interaction between the kids. Will definitely go back!!
