Located in charming Rosewood with plenty parking, Main Moon has been our "go to" American style Chinese food for years.They are ALWAYS consistently tasty, VERY fast, reasonable prices, and have healthy options to load up on veggies (that's what I like to do).If there is a better option in Columbia, SC......I haven't had it, and it probably doesn't exist.

Family ordered takeaway for Christmas. We ordered their wonton soup, garlic tofu, vegetable delight, sweet and sour chicken, and fried wontons. Balance came out to approximately $110.What's hot- Menu. It's a pretty extensive menu- meats, veggies, tofu, maybe even for vegans. - Service. For ordering food for a family of 6, our order was ready in about 20 minutes. Everything was properly wrapped up. Nothing was missing. When I gave them the name for our order, everything was ready. They're also open during major American holidays, such as Christmas and New Year's, which is very helpful. - Location. Pretty easy to find in a small plaza with other shops. When we went on Christmas Day, all their tables and chairs were pushed to the side, so I'm uncertain whether they're currently doing table service or if it's just take away orders. - Price. Very reasonable, especially given the portions. If you order a quart, versus a pint, it's less than $10, which includes white rice.What's not- Quality. As a child of immigrant parents, who grew up in Silicon Valley, CA, where there is a large community of Chinese immigrants, I can say that this is not authentic Chinese food. It's catered for the local American population. The flavor and seasoning of the food is very generic. For example the difference between my spicy garlic tofu and vegetable delight was only the tofu. All the vegetables between the two dishes were literally the same, including the sauce/taste. With that said, it's not terrible. For Americanized Chinese food, it works.Final AnswerWouldn't be my first choice for quality Chinese food, but it's reliable.

I've been trying Chinese places around Columbia over the past couple years, trying to find one of the little strip-mall type of places that had the best food and good prices. Main Moon fits that category better than anywhere else. It's a very straightforward place. You go in, they have the large printed out menus as well as some images above the register of the popular dishes. It's a very small place, and they don't really have tables set up for dining there, so plan to get carry out. Usually they're bringing my food back from the kitchen within 5 minutes of placing an order. I've been trying the combo meals, which come with fried rice and an egg roll, both of which are fairly standard but really good. My favorite dish, with my very simple palate, is the sesame chicken combo, pictured below. If you're going for quick, delicious, fairly priced Chinese food, this is the restaurant for you. 5/5 stars.

BEST Chinese food in Columbia! I am never disappointed by their food. So tasty and generous quantities. Also, best crab rangoons I've ever had, by far. Been a patron of this business since 2018 and don't plan on stopping any time soon. Thank you, Main Moon!!

Just terrible. The spring roll was dripping with grease. The shrimp toast was burnt and also wet with old oil.The pork lo mein a half pound of noodles with some strips of pork, absolutely no sauce. The hot and sour soup lacked any hint of white pepper or black Chinese vinegar. The color was milky. I'm sure there must be a decent Chinese restaurant in Colimbia but this is not it.I spent over $100.00 and the only thing we could eat was the shrimp and lobster sauce. Eatable but not great. Lobster sauce does not have lobster in it but the addition of artificial crab was interesting. Yes it looks like lobster. Lol

Decent Chinese food. Just decent. Ordered orange chicken but should maybe try something else next time.

Tried ordering through GrubHub and it was an hour and 20 mins. We got an alert that an additional 20 mins was added due to large number of orders. At the time that we were expecting the delivery the restaurant cancelled the order. Instead of just delaying! Terrible service and will complain to GrubHub.

I am usually picky about Chinese food however I have ordered from here a few times and it is so good! You get huge portions, always enough for 2 meals. We always get the dinner combos, sesame chicken dinner combo and general Tso chicken dinner combo. Both come with fried rice and an egg roll for around $14 each but we usually get two servings out of it. My go to Chinese spot now in Columbia!
