Mago's Taqueria & Bar

This restaurant recently opened. It has excellent reviews on Google. We gave it a try and enjoyed the food and drinks. The service was slow, but it was only the third day since the opening. PLATTERS - I would recommend the platters: an excellent deal and a lot of food. I wouldn't recommend the Pupsusa. They tasted frozen. Otherwise, drinks were good.

Seems like this place just opened . I decided sat at the bar for lunch the bar wasn't stocked at all barely any bottles and no bar tender tending the bar the hostess that sat me took my order which felt a bit strange and you pay as your leaving at the front register. Now as far as the food goes it was very delicious just wasn't happy with the amount of meat in my Birria Tacos and the fact that they didn't come with any sides for $15.00 several other places I frequent are in the same price range or cheaper but comes with rice and beans and a lot more meat in their tacos . The plantains I ordered as a side were great and actually did get a decent amount for the price . Not 100% sure on returning due to such little food for the price .

Friendly service. Nice-sized portions and well-seasoned. It's probably my top 5 pick of the restaurants I've tried in Charlotte and I'm glad they're here.The menu includes menudo, tongue, etc., as well as many Tex-Mex and American favorites. It has a better-priced, better-tasting alternative to Chipotle's bowls --for $11, you get a nice portion that includes rice, avocado, pico, steak, etc. You can also try something more authentic, if you like.Note that the restaurant is next door to a smoke shop, so it can feel a little dicey, but the interior is clean and with pleasant, modern decor.

Couldn't be happier with our first visit! Waitress was friendly and attentive, food was a nice surprise. Really didn't expect it to be as good as it was just because where we're from we don't have actual real authentic sit down Hispanic food. 100% recommend and we will be returning. Sorry got to excited and ate our food before i remembered to take a pic but it looked as good as it tasted.

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The service was fantastic and the food made me realize that all the other Mexican I've had was not good. I had the chimichanga in the meat inside of it was so tasty. Even the beans had seasoning. My husband had, the Birria tacos and they were to die for. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Very nice place. Colorful clean and great strawberry margarita. Service was very good too. I ordered Birria tacos.

I usually don't write reviews, but this place deserved it, i have been in many mexican restaurants and those were ok, and i have to say this is the one you have to try hands down, food was so delicious, we tried the chimichangas and the quesa birrias, i am definitely coming back
