Mado for the win! We went last weekend and they remembered our names this weekend. Gold star customer service. It's a quaint spot being a former bank. How does one know it used to be a bank. There's the vault door which is impressive and the drive thru.Let's start w/the salted caramel choux. The caramel was buttery delicious. The pastry cre itself was rich and fabulous. The choux was not too sweet and balanced the sweetness of the pastry cream. The chocolate tart was beyond fabulous. The chocolate mousse was so creamy and delectable. The chocolate shell was not too sweet and again balanced the mousse. The croissants are fantastic. Light, flaky and buttery as one wants their croissants to be.Gluten sensitive and loved the fact that one can tell that the ingredients come from Europe because I didn't have my usual gluten sensitivity reactions. Doesn't mean it's gluten free but at least I can still have the occasional indulgence w/o worry.

What a fabulous place to stop! We were in town for the holidays and my sister-in-law could not stop bragging about this bakery. We went in on Black Friday and, although there wasn't as much available as normal, we were very pleased. The food was excellent, and the service was very friendly. We love that you can sit inside in the former bank vault! The kids were nervous that it would get closed on them so we opted for regular seating not in the bank vault ha ha. I personally had the chocolate croissant and loved it. My husband had the longer piece of bread that was stuffed with ham and cheese. I had a few bites and it was also delicious. When we are back in town, we would definitely return!

Great food and friendly service. Menu offered many options and all (three) meals were tasty and delicious. Nice bistro type setting with minimal noise. Easy to have a conversation or just relax with a coffee and pastry.

This bakery and cafe is both casual and cozy. The staff was welcoming, patient, and helpful when I had questions regarding their menu items. Every menu item I tried was ELITE in terms of texture and taste. I've tried the following over the course of my visits: Almond Croissant, Chai Vanilla Latte Frappe, Salted Caramel Choux, Chocolat Croissant, Crème Brûlée, Slush (Mango Flavor). It should be known that there is not a set bakery menu. Visit with the expectation of trying a new delicious treat each time you walk in the door. Word of advice, arrive early for the best tasting experience.

Delicious bakery, and the coffee was divine. We got to try several of the baked items, all of which were utterly luscious, and the flavored lattes were just memorable. I look at this place as a treat, maybe (for me) not a daily or weekly indulgence, but hopefully monthly, at least....

I don't get to Rock Hill often, but I made sure to stop by Mado when I heard they were a Black owned French bakery. I got there later on in the afternoon, so a lot of goodies had already been bought. The staff was very welcoming and answered any questions I had. I thought the owners did an excellent job of converting the space of a former bank. I'm looking forward to visiting again.

While it is a bit pricey on some items, you are getting what you pay for which is a trip down a delectably sweet experience. The creaminess of the three items we shared... it is taking all I can to not go down more to Rock Hill to indulge. The friendliness of the owners is top notch too in addition to their pastry skills.

Mado has quickly become my go-to for my not so sweet treats. It is a family run business. On the weekends, it's all hands on deck. They know me by name. And never fail to greet even w/a line out the door. This visit was a mix of tarts, croissants, and salted caramel choux. The lemon tart is topped with a classic meringue and a not too sweet, not too tart lemon custard. It's a luscious smooth lemony flavor. The riz au lait is made in a classic French preparation with no egg and citrus. It was light & airy w/just a pleasant burst of citrus. The chocolate tart was to die for - decadent chocolate mousse and a fudgy bottom. It was beyond. I'm generally not a fan of the texture of mousses and custards but Mado's flavors are incredible.I didn't get a chance to try the chocolate croissant. My wife ate them both. The quality is excellent. The ingredients are clean and that's worth every penny. I'm happy to have discovered Mado.
