We were in the area running a few errands, and decided to stop for lunch and a beer.Very similar to the Steele Creek & South Blvd locations with a similar decor scheme, but this location has a couple of pool tables and dart boards, so we shot a couple of games of pool while we waited for the foodThe server was friendly and attentive, and came around often to see if we needed anything.The menu is the same as the other Mac's locations; standard BBQ fare, and a wide variety of sides. We got some wings and sides. My daughter said that the sweet potato fries were good, and I think they make the best collard greens around.The beer menu is not quite as good as other locations. it seemed to be comprised mostly of IPA'sAll in all a good place for a beer and some BBQ like the other locations, but I prefer the Steel Creek location

The dining room was really cool and the food was even better. We got the down south egg rolls, hush puppies, brisket dip sandwich, and a pulled pork platter (which came with toast, pickles, and 2 sides!). Absolutely recommend

We could smell the bbq in the parking lot, which whetted our appetites. The decor is cool and casual and we were seated quickly. I read other reviews, so wasn't disappointed when our waitress didn't extend pleasantries. No matter, we were there for the grub. Pros: fast service, hot food, extensive menu, and great food. Cons: sticky table and menu, burnt ends were too fatty

Came by here one late afternoon while visiting NC. I was excited to try it since I have seen this place featured on TV shows as amazing BBQ. The place was pretty empty other than a handful of people at the bar and yet the hostess was rude about us being a larger party (10) which I was confused about since again, the place was dead. They told us that we could either sit outside in the heat at combines tables or sit inside at separate tables. We decided on separate inside tables just to then be told they would not even be next to each other which was baffling since there were plenty of tables available. They told us we could sit on the high top tables in the bar area which were at least next to each other and that is what we ended up doing even though we had young children and a disabled person in our party. Going back and forth with the hostess with seating alone took about 15 minutes which was frustrating and it must have just been her opinion and not something she discussed with management or the servers because after we decided on the high top tables, her and the server pushed the tables together which she said was not an option in the first place. After we got seated we decided on some appetizers and drinks. The bar area was fun with decor and they had many screens to watch the football games on. My favorite team was not on any of them but the bar tender and a man at the bar saw me watching on my phone and they turned one of the screens on to that game which I thought was very nice of them. I tried the fried pickles and they were pretty good. Nothing super special but they were tasty. I ordered the BBQ brisket sandwich and was very disappointed. It was a very small portion of meat for the price (I honestly thought maybe it was a kids meal on accident) and it came on a hamburger bun and was already completely soggy to the point of being mush by the time it got to me. There was no way I could eat it like a sandwich so had to use a fork. The texture was so bad I just avoided the bottom bun at all costs. I tried the sauces on the table and they were all very watery so it made sense that the bun could not handle it but guessing if they toast the buns or use a different bread, that issue could be solved. I opted to avoid using more sauce since it was not my favorite. The meat was dry and overcooked and was a lot of fat considering BBQ chopped brisket usually is a leaner dish. The server acted annoyed the whole time we were there. My daughters order was wrong and she acted like we ordered it wrong. My daughter is on the spectrum and will not eat mac and cheese so I have never nor would ever order her that over tots or fries so I guarantee I was not the one in the wrong. I even offered to just order a side of tots and pay for them to just solve the issue but the server just did not say a word and turned around so we were unsure if we would get them or not (we did). Ultimately the food was edible but it is not somewhere I would go again.

Service was okay. Food was horrible. I don't know how they can call this BBQ. I got the pulled pork. Completely flavorless. No smoke flavor at all. This place makes the worst BBQ restaurants in Kansas City look like Michelin star restaurants.

Was in town for work and highly recommend the carolina bbq wings!!! Fries were crispy but the portions were very low. If there were most fries of the wings came with fries it would be a 5 star. Still highly recommend!!!

I decided to stay in and ordered. Unfortunately, my entire order is crap. I would seriously like a full refund for order 61. I tried calling them immediately but no answer, tried again and the manager was rude, pretty much called me a liar and stated everything was fresh.. Not sure what chef they hired or the staff but clearly everything was horrible. I seriously want my full refund. Dogs won't even eat this at all!! I'm very mad with how I was treated. I will be contacting the regional manager. Don't come here !!

Packed bar, quick service from our server Samantha, and great prices for some tasty food! Love this place

Macs Speed Shop in Cornelius is by far the best restaurant along I-77, I make sure to stop in whenever I get a chance. If you're looking for BBQ, wings, burgers, or beer this is THE place to go.My server, Samantha, was attentive and welcoming. Her enthusiastic banter truly made the dining experience one I'm excited to come back to. I can't forget to mention that the GM, Mr. Bam, would check in with the tables to make sure everything was in order. Personally, I absolutely love a manager that takes the extra step and ensures the guests have everything they need. There's arcade games, pool tables, dart boards, connect 4 for the kids, and TVs for all the football you could want. There's outside seating, fire pits, and plenty of parking. Samantha told me about how I could help the community by simply ordering hushpuppies. Apparently all proceeds go to local youth organizations. So of course I started with the hushpuppies, amazing. Then I had the beef rib with BBQ beans and sweet potato fries. I would say my mouth dropped at the size of this bad mamma jamma but the first bite is what really did it for me. Tender, juicy, effortlessly falls off the bone, and the right amount of crispness. I try to get a different side every time I go but I can't get away from the sweet potato fries!!!Macs Speed Shop in Cornelius, I will be back!

I hit the jackpot finding this bbq joint in Cornelius, such a great place to dine in! There were two dark haired servers handling the tables well and what seemed to be a manager actively engaging with the cooks, servers, and the occasional guest. 10/10 would dine again
