Los Mezquites Mexican Grill

I'm not going to lie, coming to a Mexican restaurant in North Carolina (and visiting from San Jose, California) I had low expectations. But after seeing the menu and having chips & fresh salsa as a starter, I had hopes for some decent food. The food was not bad, but also not something to write home about (but apparently enough to Yelp about =P) It was your typical greasy mom & pop taqueria. The portions are also HUGE. I ordered with my eyes, not my stomach, as my mom would say (and she did, she was there).

Food is great, and the service and everyone who works there will keep you coming back. The ambience is what you would expect from a Mexican grill, and also has outdoor seating for all weather. Great spot

Overall the food was ehhhhh decent. Came to Denver NC on a mini getaway vacation and wanted to check out this Mexican spot. To start the guacamole dip is gross. I was expecting real pieces of mash avocados but instead I got some nasty looking paste. The Carne Asada dish was ok. The carne was extremely dry. My husband Mariachi's Special was ok also. The Margarita Top Shelf were delicious!! I do recommend them. After I got my meal, at no point the waitress came back to ask me if everything was ok. This place has potential but you gotta start with better staff.

Driving around Mooresville on a Sunny Sunday trying to find a place to eat without an hour wait is impossible. Finding this little restaurant was a great experience all around. The service was quick and friendly, the outdoor seating was very pleasant and the menu has more than enough choices. Between the three of us, we had ACP, combination quesadillas, and chili Poblano's, all of which were very tasty.For $36.00, it was well worth driving past all the other places for a good meal. Definitely give this place a try.

What a great little Mexican place, and I'm so grateful for something on this side of town! We visited this location with friends this week and the place was packed! We had to wait just a moment on a table and then our party of 5 had to squeeze in at a 4 top.Our waitress was kind and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Our food was great. I got Pelusa, which was rice with grilled chicken, steak and shrimp, covered in cheese dip and served with flour tortillas. One great thing, we didn't have to remind them about the tortillas as we do with so many other restaurants. It was really great, and a huge portion.We will definitely be back!

Food was good but we were seated in a back room and rarely saw our waiter.. I ended up getting up and searching for water refills for our table of (4).

Typical mexican fare in a convenient location for the growing community of Sherrills Ford.I wrote this review originally on their first day open, things were running pretty smoothly that day.We sat outside (yes, outdoor seating) and ordered lunch Fajitas, ACP and a Super Burrito. All was good to average, as expected.I requested hot salsa, and received a nice salsa verde and a hot brown chile sauce. The salsa verde was very good!I asked for the Fajitas to be cooked in a hot sauce, they obliged. The heat was just right.The Super Burrito was massive and prepared as requested, all the stuff my young Son asked be left off was left off.ACP was identical to every other typical Mexican restaurant.UPDATE: Service slow to very slow outdoors and in now that they've been open awhile, but, I didn't take off a star for this in the first weeks. I have to, now, drinks sit empty and staff walks by most of the time without attending to us and the business has been open for some time. The last visit I made it took literally an hour for a party of two to receive food, and the staff didn't say anything about it (before, or after including when paying the tab). I am worried about this business surviving if this keeps up!A solid four stars if service and consistency in service steps up, until then.....

Food was decent. Service was horrible. Slow. Good luck getting a refill. Ordered a second margarita that sat at the bar for 20 minutes. Never saw the server again after she took our order. Wasn't even that busy

I never write reviews because it's not worth it so when I take time to write one it's bad... I ordered a steak burrito (dry) with no cheese sauce or red salsa on top... this is what I got. I'm coming from California so I know good Mexican food but this is just awful. HOW IS THE BURRITO NOT EVEN FOLDED?!?! How can you let chipotle be a better Mexican restaurant than you? Unreal. Will not be back.

I recently dined at this Mexican restaurant and had an great experience. The clean atmosphere and friendly staff, The attention to detail and use of fresh ingredients made the meal even more enjoyable.
