We stopped here after eating at the restaurant across the street. The area has quite a few breweries and cool places to check out. We decided to stop in before heading back to our hotel. The interior is pretty basic with a bar to the left as you enter and seating to the right. There is outside seating some covered and some uncovered. I walked up to the bar and ordered one of their IPA's and my wife and I took a seat inside. There were definitely some locals sitting at the the table next to us. My wife and I chatted and look around a bit. The interior was nothing special, just a hangout place. There was a little bit of swag behind the bar. It appears they have about 13 of there own beers on tap. My beer was good but nothing significant. Overall it was a nice stop and a good experience but they really need something more. It kind of left us wanting. Maybe we visited on an off night. We would probably not come back.

Extremely friendly staff, deceptively comfortable wood chairs, beautiful tables and honestly, I just love the feel of the taproom. I get a kind of cabin + beach vibe, but without all the bugs and sand that mess things up.13th Meridian is a solid, solid milk stout, but I was especially surprised by their NEIPA, Mountain Hopshine (which I was informed is their most popular as mine kicked the current keg halfway through the pour). I don't often rate beers higher than a 4 on Untappd, but this one exceeded that for me.If you're a beer fan visiting Black Mountain, definitely make this a stop.

Love this place! They recently gave themselves a makeover (especially the bar area) and it's beautiful. Upon entering it is well organized- there can be quite a few people in here but it doesn't feel busy. They have an outdoor patio for overflow. We sat there and asked them to turn the heaters up. It was cozy and we didn't feel bad being loud. The bartenders are super polite and helpful. The bar area stays busy but it always moves fast and you're never waiting long. They have a ton of variety with their beers and now they've added wine to the mix. You can get a glass (two options) or a bottle. The bottles are ridiculously cheap for buying at an establishment. Like $16 cheap. Brilliant. And they have nice options too. I love that they have a ton of nonalcoholic options for the sober friends ir designated driver friend. They have stouts, porters, ipas! All non alcoholic. Way to be inclusive. Bathrooms clean and cozy (hey-it's winter this is important) and while they don't have food you can walk to Fresh to get pizza and/or salads across the street. Good amount of parking here too.

Great brewery away from the crowds in downtown black mountain. Lots of seating- indoors and outdoors. Bartender, Sarah, was super helpful and friendly. I got a flight of four and loved all four of them- toasted hazelnut dunkel, floyds raspberry wit, mad beats Irish red and on the trail golden ale. Limited food- basically pretzels. Come here - you won't be disappointed!!

Very nice nano brewery. Our server was super sweet. The beer is very good. And we got free pretzels with a Flight, how awesome is that?

Cute little brewery off the beaten bath. Excellent selection of beers. It's so nice to visit a brewery that is not all IPA's and funky beers like strawberry-PB-pepper. The amber, Irish red and blonde were our faves. The bartender was extremely kind and patient due to the fact we had 3 kiddos with us. Sad we couldn't collect a sticker from here but maybe we will get to come back some day.

When in Asheville you hit breweries, so this was the next stop! Not much on the outside but inside is super cute and they have a great selection of brews! The bartender offered for us to try a few before we decided on one! I decided on the Peppers of the Caribbean Pale Ale. The peppers that are in this brew are make it alittle peppery which is right up my alley and the price was just right.... 9oz for $4! They offer an inside and outside seating area as well as a food truck! If you are I. The black mountain area hit this brewery!

Located two blocks from downtown Black Mountain, sits an assuming industrial building that sits half empty and half occupied by this place! Some friends and I were in town for a long weekend and were luckily staying 100 yards away in an AirBnB on S. Ridgeway, so this place was almost literally in our backyard...so, of course we wondered over on a Saturday night! We arrived around 9:00 PM and we had the place to ourselves and ended up hanging out until they closed at 10:00 PM. Service - The bartender was absolutely wonderful! (We visited on 2/23/19, so I hope she gets a shout out!). She was super nice, knowledgeable and all around fun!Decor/Layout - Not a big place, but the space is well laid out and utilized. They have two entry doors, the first is in front of the bar and when you walk in you are staring at the bar directly in front of you and then have about five 4-top tables to the right. The other entrance, in the same room, but opens to the big communal table and the "arcade" area that features Golden Tee and a pinball machine. The decor is perfect for the area and a brewery, its sporty via the surfboard and kayak hanging from the ceiling then country by the heavy wood furnishings and industrial style mason jar lights. Atmosphere - Laid back and local. Location - As mentioned, it sits on the corner of S. Ridgeway and State Street, right across from Fresh Pizza and is literally a short walk, about 2 blocks from downtown Black Mountain. Parking - Private lot, plenty of spacePrice - Great! Pints average $5 each. Now, we can talk about what this place is known for...the beer! While this was my first here, the bartender educated me on how they do things and what they got going on! They usually try to keep around 10 - 12 beers on tap, and a few non-alcoholic options as well. They have a variety of styles from IPA's, Stouts to Sours. If you end up liking what you got and want to take it home, they sell Crowlers and Growlers of their beer! Overall, this place seems like a gem in Black Mountain and it certainly has 7 new fans for life!

Thanks for being a part of the Black Mountain Ale Trail! What a fantastic outing with our fun and knowledgeable ale trail blazer, Siler! We're somewhat familiar with the area but now know more about the breweries, restaurants, and local history. We will definitely return to Lookout Brewing every time when we have friends and family visit the area! Thanks again for an awesome time! Definitely 5 !
