I'm not exaggerating when I say that this may have been the best breakfast I have ever had. Everything from the coffee to the eggs to the hash browns were simply delicious. My coffee cup was always full and the waitress was always friendly. I would eat here everyday if I could. If I am ever on death row, this breakfast will be my last meal.

Omg! LCK is soooooo good. I ordered livermush, one scrambled egg, and grits. I had so much food I was able to have breakfast for 2....hear me now 2 days!! This is where you go for a home-cooked meal that doesn't break the bank and keeps you coming back for more!

I knew the minute I walked in I was going to be happy. All the patrons were 55 and up - which means this place is a favorite with locals who will not put up with bad food. I got the usual breakfast, hash browns, 2 eggs, sausage, coffee and toast. It was reasonable. I gave a larger tip than usual. Servers need their pay. And I'll go back for lunch. It is not open for dinner.

Look - the place is plain and devoid of much character. It feels a bit like you are walking in an old infirmary and smells a bit like old bleached mop water and food. BUT. BUT the food is EXACTLY what you want and what they say it is: delicious, simple and hot. The prices are low. The staff are kind and welcoming, no pretentiousness or brusqueness. Good old-fashioned Southern kindness. I felt like I went back 35 years and I was traveling around N.C. with my Dad discovering little dives on the way up to Raleigh. Simply put: I love this place.

Friendly service. Large breakfast selection. My western omelette was very good. Excellent prices. Plenty of seating. You know you've found a 'good spot' when the parking lot is filled with locals

Places like this are disappearing in our progress toward bigger and better. Quality, personal service and just plain nice folks preparing simple and good food seem to be going away.Outside of the Monroe airport and along Hwy 74 is this little local eatery along side the highway. No big advertising or flash, it is noticeable by the number of cars parking around this building seemingly "in the middle of nowhere."Menu us breakfast and lunch all day, so long as it is between 4am and 3pm except for Saturdays when it closed at noon. Sundays and Mondays it is closed.Did I write 4am? Yes I did. A lot of the locals are farmers and run small businesses, so the Little Country Kitchen is one of the few places where you can get a sit-down meal in the wee hours of the morning.Local color, if I may, is the normal, hard-working folks who live around here, interspersed with those few outsiders who stop in for a visit.Simple layout which reminds me of a 1950s kitchen. There are two rooms for dining, underlining how popular and good this place really is. Menu has all the basics, and southern basics, like biscuits and country ham, not to be confused with the other hams smoked and cured outside of the old South. Portions are good and substitutes are the norm.Coffee and tea flow throughout your stay and your cup or glass never gets empty until it goes to the kitchen to be washed.Nothing fancy, check the specials board and enjoy the old time simplicity and warmth of a local eatery.
