The winery is a small place with some outdoor seating around the tasting room and a few places to sit inside. They had 2 bars for tasting inside also. As far as the wines go, they mostly range on the dry side of things with some more unique grape varietals not typically scene in NC. Everything was good!! Nice are crisp on the whites and some well balanced reds. The lazycello, a wine based limoncello spin off was absolutely fantastic! The best part of the whole experience was the owner being so personal with us during our tasting. Telling us about the history of the winery and the different grapes they grow! People like him are what make small wineries like this fun to try!

When a winery's reviews all state how good the wine is, you know it's worth trying. The wines were indeed great, and I didn't have a bad sip on this occasion. What I did not expect though was how knowledgeable and gracious a host Chris and his dad are to their guests. I even got to take a quick peek at the distillery area, where he has several more barrels getting ready to go! We ended up getting a bottle of the sweet apple and a bottle of the limoncello wine to go (that's right, limoncello wine!) and they also offer full menu tastings for $10/person. We did that as well. Wasn't busy when we went but apparently it can get quite busy at times. We will certainly be back!

This tiny and unassuming winery far off the beaten path is comprised of a not much more than a few metal storage buildings and sweeping, quiet fields. But inside you'll find the most passionate wine maker I think I have ever met and his charming father who proudly boasts about his sons vision and artistry. From seeing the locals come and go throughout our time there it is clear that they are a beloved part of their community and it is so easy to see why. I tell you we experienced some of the most complex and interesting wines I think I have ever had, and that's after growing up on Long Island in wine country. At ten dollars for a tasting which includes ten wines, you can't go wrong, an absolute bargain to get to try everything they offer after which you'll definitely be buying a bottle or five to take home. I've squirreled away my bottle of the incredible lemon wine and I don't think I'll ever allow anyone else a sip- it is truly magnificent and would take home every blue ribbon in a contest.Do yourself a favor and check this place out! It's a total win.

We loved this winery. Went on the Friday before Christmas and did the tasting with Chris the owner. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed almost every wine we tasted. I loved that an entrepreneur moved down here from Jersey and is giving wine making a go. Support this winery!! We need to keep these boutique wineries in business. Give it a try and you will be glad you did!!

So glad we found this place! We were at other wineries in the area and wanted to go to one more before the day ended... this one was the closest :-)The tasting room isn't big & it's not fancy but boy do they make up for it with their wines. The owner/winemaker definitely knows his stuff! He's a very nice guy down to earth & most likely will be there on the weekends. He'll take the time & talk to you about the wines & answer any questions you have about winemaking in general. You can tell this is really his passion & it shines through in his wines. One thing I appreciate is he values educating his employees on the wines he makes and the winemaking processes. We had two wonderful ladies giving us our wine tasting and gave us a wealth of knowledge that we didn't already have and we are definitely serial wine-tasters :-) but they credited all their knowledge to the owner, how nice!!!If you're a red wine lover he has some great red wines! He also hand-presses all his wine to remove the seeds & stems before fermentation, this way you don't get a tannin taste. His wines were incredibly smooth! He also has a great true Italian Pinot Grigio & a good stainless steel Chardonnay. There are a few semi-sweet wines & an amazing port! We definitely left with a bottle of the port, highly recommend! You have to go here, you won't regret the wines or the knowledge you gain!

Love this little hidden gem. We got a delicious sangria and enjoyed outside by the live music. The patio area has a lot of potential, I would love to see them expand and really embrace the great outdoor space they have! The staff was super friendly and helpful!

Looking to go to a new winery and happened upon Lazy Elm! Off the beaten path, the owner Chris spent the time educating us on their wine and his passion for what he does came through not only his words but the wine! Honestly, there is not a wine I would not buy and will be back to hang out! Thank you!

This is a MUST winery to visit! The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and a delight to chat with! And the wine is some of the best we have ever had - clean, crisp, flavorful. I am not much of a red wine drinker, but these reds are superb! We left with several bottles!
