Las Margaritas Mexican Restaurant

Typical Mexican fare; heavy on the cheese. Plus: Good service with plenty of food on the plate. Employees are very friendly and ordering is fast. It's comfort food - reasonable pricing and lots of seating. There are some wonderful people working here so I don't want to discourage anyone from visiting. Cons: My reason for writing this is to point out that the Vegetarian part of the menu is a joke - the rice and beans are NOT VEGETARIAN. Hate to give up on a restaurant but it's not OK to pretend you're sensitive to diet restrictions when you add meat and chicken stock to your vegetables

I have visited this location on several occasions during the workweek for lunch. Ive always been greeted in a friendly manner and seated right away. Theres ample seating and the location is quite large and good for groups. Food comes out fast and piping hot. Very flavorful. Their menu has something for everyone in your group. Steak fajitas and chicken soup are my go tos!

Stopped by for an early dinner yesterday and had a really yummy meal. Nice sized parking lot and is easily located right off of Independence Blvd. We were greeted and seated immediately by a little cactus garden with some cute figurines like the Spongebob Pineapple. I thought it was cute. There is also a fish tank inside. The Interior is pleasant, with exposed ductwork ceilings, but painted beige so it didn't feel too dark in there.The chips and salsa served complimentarily were some of the best I've had. I loved the flavor of the salsa and the little bits of onion and cilantro floating in the soupy tomato liquid. Cheese dip is a natural appetizer and this one was so good! Creamy and a huge portion.Our dinners were yummy and we all 3 had to have go boxes. So much food. I got Tacos al Carbon with Chicken. They reminded me of an enchilada in taco form. I really didn't care for the flabby tortillas, so next time I'll try something else. The flavor of the chicken was delicious though.We sampled 2 desserts to share: the Apple tart and the churros. Apple tart was just ok, but the churros were perfection! Crunchy and sweet on the outside and soft and chewing on the inside. We all agreed it was the best dish of the day.Great flavors, friendly atmosphere and excellent service make this place a winner!

You could fly right past this strip mall on independence and never realize a Mexican restaurant is in there, but thanks to yelp, we found this gem. Went for lunch, and it was pretty quiet when we went in. Server was fantastic, polite and didn't try to rush us at all. All the food options were tasty. We will certainly be back!

If you want good Mexican food, please do yourself a favor. This family run restaurant gets it right every time. The salsa is amazing! No can flavor, just awesome freshness! The waitress said her father makes it every day. You can definitely tell. We usually ask for 3 refills, which would be my only advice to them-more salsa (in my more cowbells voice)! Bring. It. On. I understand if they don't want to waste it, but I would be doubtful that would happen, and I would be totally supportive if they posted pics of those who wasted it, so that were they come back they can sic the Salsa Executioner on them with "No salsa for you!"...I'd be cool with it...may even make me eat there a few times a week. I always get a taco The first time I try a New Mexican restaurant. Yes, I know that those are American representations of Mexican food, but I like them. Just the regular hard shell ground beef taco-I've never had one with the meat so delicious! I usually ask for light meat, but I want all of it at Las Margaritas! Truly, if I'm not feeling like making tacos at home, this is my go to. The chimichanga is amazing as well. I get the one with shredded beef. The rice and beans are typical fare, but always hot and good. My husband has had the combination fajitas and the camarones diablos, which are his favorites, and he raves the whole time he eats. This restaurant seems very unassuming from the outside, sits in a strip shopping center. You walk in and it's a little dark, not a huge space, but there are always customers.... Happy customers. People come in and out, picking up orders and the reason is the great customer service and the great food! And, did I mention the salsa! If you have not gone here, you need to make it your next meal!

I can not say enough good things about this restaurant! The food was amazing, they gave you such big portions (great for lunch the next day) and Edgar who was I believe the owner came to check on us during dinner and was the nicest most fun person. The restaurant was clean and cozy. Our dinner was fantastic!

The chips were old the queso was a little plain and no pico de gallo anywhere. The salsa was ok but the chips were old. My food the enchiladas verde was good

okay let me start off by saying by all these reviews are a total lie. the salsa tasted like watered down red sauce and the chicken looked like it was microwaved and had no seasoning. I definatley did not enjoy. I will not be coming back after my queso was chunky and cold. paid $30 for just my meal and didn't even eat it all. the service was okay but did not feel like a tip was needed after we never got checked on at our table.

Nice staff, friendly and inviting. Love the salsa, has a great flavor. The pollo con crema was good but it was mainly onions, very little chicken especially for $18.99. Won't be back for a while

Las Margaritas is the best Mexican restaurant in Charlotte! The Verde on the Shrimp Enchiladas is a recipe that goes back generations. The Fajitas are scrumptious and the Sour Cream Sauce on the Pollo Con Crème is amazing. Everything comes in giant portions on giant plates and it's fresh, authentic and reasonably priced.
