Lang Van

Love this place! Lang Van is a Charlotte staple, so if you haven't been here it's time to go. My go to is the lemongrass beef, medium spicy. Other standouts are the spring rolls, all the vermicelli dishes, and the hot pot.They also have tons of options for vegans and vegetarians. The owner, Dan, is the sweetest lady who will remember your order or have something special made for you. They're always busy, but the service is great and the food comes out quickly. I do takeout most of the time, but I like dining in as well. The inside is old school and comfortable good for a casual lunch or dinner. Another place with an extensive menu so you can go regularly and try something different each time.

#30 Pho Tai Nam (3/5): I'm generally not a huge fan of pho, and all of the ones I've had taste pretty much the same to me. This one wasn't any different. #110 Mi Xao Kho Thap Cam (3/5): Loaded stir fry with tons of different ingredients, but all the flavors kinda just blended in together and it was a little bland overall. I was also hoping the noodles would be a little crispy, but they weren't.*Extra star for great service that was extremely fast (my water must have been refilled at least 10 times over the course of our short meal).RATING SYSTEM5 - Great (Need to get this again)4 - Good (Would get this again)3 - Ok (Might give this another shot)2 - Not Good (Won't get this again)1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

Living in Charlotte for almost four years now, I can't believe it took me this long to try Lang Van.When you go inside, it just feels like home. Everyone knows everyone here. I just saw the servers and, I'm guessing, the owner hugging their loyal customers.Everything is clean. I love the pictures, holiday cards, and awards on the wall. All of the servers are smiling, enjoying what they're doing, and talking to all the customers to make them feel welcome. This is the only restaurant I've experienced in Charlotte that has this much connection and love for its customers.The food was legit! I had the Mi Dac Biet, and my wife had the Pho Dac Biet. Both were large portions.Cha Gio 5/5These rolls are perfect! Packed with meaty goodness but not too salty. I might prefer these than the Filipino Lumpia that I grew up with hahahPho Dac Biet 5/5Large portion. Clear and delightful broth paired with fresh noodles and good cuts of meat. If you want the classic traditional pho. This is it.Mi Dac Biet 4/5Large portion as well. Clear broth compliments the springy egg noodles, shrimp and cuts of meat. The only reason why I gave a 4 was because it was imitation crab and not real crab.Overall both noodle soup dishes are and great and perfect for the cold weather. It was cold and freezing in Charlotte so we wanted to eat soup. How happy were we when we found Lang Van for a hot Pho Dac Biet! There were many locals dining in and it felt like a community gathered around in this restaurant. Everybody seems to know each other. We were just tourists around the area but the servers made us feel welcomed. Even the locals who sat next to our table were recommending their favorite dish. So we tried the yellow pancake with shrimps as recommended and it did not disappoint. The Pho Dac Bet tasted so authentic like what we had in Vietnam that we wanted more! The egg rolls were so delicious too! Sweet teaWas a hit but their vietnamese coffee was the icing on top! The ambiance was festive and homey. Really felt like a family holiday.

My favorite pho in charlotte. Most welcoming people ever. Good parking in the back. It's ALWAYS packed. The walls are decorated with so many christmas cards, truly the sweetest family.

As a fellow viet, I feel the need to try vietnamese food everywhere I go. I gotta find my people and support them! But honestly, here's what really happened - I'm from out of town visiting. I had way too much fun the night before at an edm festival and when i rolled over in my bed the next morning, I was craving a much needed bowl of hangover pho soup and a crispy banh xeo to continue my mini weekend getaway. With one eye open, I searched Google and found this place... hands down the best banh xeo I've ever had in the US. Heck, I will go as far to say, it's better than some of the ones I've had in VIETNAM! Everything else we got was also pretty decent but definitely go for the banh xeo. I'm going to be dreaming about it until I can have it again. Atmosphere is a typical pho place. Staff was sooooo helpful, attentive, and nice!

Loved the food here! Service is very tentative and quick, always refilling waters nearly after every sip. Food came out fast. Sunday at 6pm we were seated right away and by the time we were leaving there was a wait by the door for a table. #52 Bun Thit Nuong was delicious! Will be going back to try more Large parking lot, hard to maneuver with cars going in and out but is manageable.Check delivered to your table and you pay at the counter

ONLY THE BEST VIETNAMESE RESTAURANT IN THE WORLD. I will never, ever stop raving about this place. The flavors are unmatched, the menu options are plentiful, the staff is insaaaaaanely friendly and welcoming, the ambiance??!! Don't even get me started. I've visited Lang Van many times over the course of the few years I've lived in Charlotte. Not once did I experience anything other than 1000 stars. A must visit when in Charlotte!

From the moment you step inside you know that you've made a good choice. This place is a unique blend of nostalgia and adventure. It is a well run business with Dan at the reins. She is the most personable and efficient leader. She defines hard work. Every dish is plentiful and cooked to perfection. The service is outstanding and even if there's a wait it's absolutely worth it-every time. This is my favorite restaurant of all time. Thank you for another fabulous experience.

A small family run restaurant with really delicious food. I have eaten here multiple times and the food is always great! The service is fast, and the staff is friendly. They are quite busy on weekend nights - expect a wait.
