Lakewood Golf Club

Played this course for the first time today, and have no problem saying I will certainly be back. Course is in great shape for what it is, but it doesn't try to claim to be a pro course. Only very small issue I had is that they charge an extra dollar for any credit card transaction, but no worries next time I will just bring cash. Fairways, Greens and Carts were all in great shape and the course is a good challenge for a hacker like myself and I am sure some of the better players will enjoy it too.

One star is too high. went November 18th, 20223. Had a tee time. This course was in horrible condition. They had no fairway green grass and even the brown was stick weed. large patches of hard dirt areas. All the fairways were covered in leaves making it virtually impossible to find balls. What was even worse was most of the greens were completely covered in leaves which made it impossible to putt. The greens have not been aerated in years. They would not hold an approach shot or even produce a ball mark. On hole 5 the golf cart would not climb the hill. Same for the next 2 holes. We had to get out, lodge the pedal down and push it up the hills. When we finished the front 9 we told the cashier who didn't care at all. obviously the carts were not charged or the batteries replaced. I found the most pathetic course in America. This was my first and last time playing this scrub field. We expressed our dissatisfaction on having to push our cart and the girl at the register. She didn't even say sorry or even care. Shame on the owner of this place. No course maintenance, clubhouse employees are unfriendly, and the carts are very, very outdated. Did I mention the cart paths will beat you to death. Rename this place LakeWEED.

I have played Lakewood Golf Club for the past 5 years. It has great greens and conditions, friendly staff, great prices and a challenging course my husband and I enjoy. Being avid golfers, we've tried all the courses in the area and this one is the best by far. A local favorite!

Cow pasture golf with tiny, poorly positioned greens. Price is a complete ripoff for what you get. Great if you're just starting out...
