Lake Wylie Brewing

We had an interesting experience at Lake Wylie Brewing Co. We went there for their anniversary party. It was a great time until it wasn't. We enjoyed several great local brews over a couple of hours. We thoroughly enjoyed the live music. We moved to the bar counter and I asked the bar staff if they minded putting on a particular football game. The bartender said she would and yelled out to the crowd, asking if anyone was watching the current game being shown on the screen. After no one responded she turned on the game we were looking to watch. A few minutes later some obviously drunk guy showed up with the remote in his hand and started flipping through the channels. I objected and said we were watching the game. He responded by telling me one of the members of his group was a Penn state fan, and that's what he was putting on vs Purdue...perhaps realizing it was a non competitive game he tried to offer the condolence that he was connected with the owners. He also offered the "permission" to turn the tv back to the game we were watching after Penn State was up 28 points. He was clearly hammered so we just blew it off. Good experience gone bad. We like to support local business, but definitely not those whose drunk friends treat it like it's their living room.

Stopped in while we were visiting our son during Halloween weekend. Had a few beers, and enjoyed watching all the people who had dressed up and come out for their halloween costume contest. And they did a great job on their little stage outside, with the animated, motion sensing "monsters". Kids were fascinated every time they walked by. And to top off our couple hours there, they had a great food truck on site.

I mean just for the beer selection and the atmosphere for everyone including children! Has a playground in the back to let the kids burn themselves out. A top notch beer selection that will rival any other place. I prefer this over my favorite spots in Charlotte.

What a great spot! Cannot believe it took me this long to get here. Much bigger than it appears from the road. Plenty of outside seating. The food truck was also awesome.I am a dark beer kind of dude. I had their Dunkel (I assume seasonal for the winter) and their Porter. Both were fantastic.We sat at the bar. Place was not crowded at all. Nice big TV's too.From the food truck, I got the brussels sprouts and the hot chicken sandwich. My friend got the wings. All were terrific.Highly recommend. Cannot wait to go back.

I'll start by saying great beer and a great variety of it. The staff is amazing and they always have such a great variety of food trucks. Their line up of entertainment and events never disappoint.

I notices this spot while visiting the DMV next door, and after spending more than an hour at the DMV I was in need of a beer. The place is exactly what you expect from a small brewery tap room, it has a warehouse/industrial feel to it, with a long bar, a handful of tables and overhead doors opening up to outdoor seating.I took a seat at the bar, which was around half full, and was greeted by the bartender, who was very friendly and informative about the beers on tap. I had the Rip Rap West Coast IPA, and a Lough Wylie Irish Stout, both of which were very good.I noticed that they had a small menu, but did not order any food on this visit.Overall, this is a welcoming place with good beer on tap, that is only around 10 minutes from home. I will definitely be back.

Okay. Such a great dog friendly spot! The beers were awesome, the local is convenient, tons of games to play on the outside deck/turf. Great indoor space that was super comfy. Dogs welcome makes it so much fun. Awesome service, the server got our drinks rapid fire and was so nice, friendly and funny. Highly recommend!

Fun sipping spot, not near a lake.They have a nice Ebenezer Brown and a Blackberry Wheat called Swheat Summer. Beers could be a bit colder.Food truck items on the side, with some tasty higher price point truck items.

We love this spot due to it's location. There isn't anything else nearby - and the bonus is their beer is really good as well! We haven't tried the new food truck, but definitely will be back to check it out. The employees have always been helpful and friendly. It is nice having a local bar so close by.

Disappointing. Despite this location not being any where near Lake Wylie, we really wanted this place to be good. The beer and seltzer were mediocre and the outside area was filthy, as customers had to wipe the tables themselves. The single server was overworked and unable to reconcile a sense of a queue at the bar. We may give it another chance once they have more adult supervision and improved brews.
