La Unica Mexican Restaurant Indian Trail

Simply AMAZING! Had 3 tacos (ordered one more after the first 2) and a Chimi.Best tacos I have had since being in California. It was a hike to get here, but I will do it again and again.Loved it.

We come here whenever we visit Charlotte. One of the best Mexican restaurants we've been to. Great salsa and chips. Great service.

I am shocked to say Food and Service have went All they way down hill! Its time to find a new place.

This place is bare bones and the food is not remotely good. I couldn't even finish my food. No flavor everything was the same consistency... mush! The search continues for authentic, edible American-Mexican food in Charlotte. It is truly unbelievable that it is so difficult to find here.

Food is always good and very fast on takeout.went for takeout and waited till ai entered restaurant to order. The beef burritos were excellent and the chips and salsa also excellent. We ordered a large cheese dip and they gave us a generous portion with lots of chips. I like eating here as well as getting takeout which took only about 10 minutes from I. The door to back out the door. I highly recommend this restaurant when in the mood for Mexican food.

This is the typical lazy Mexican restaurant that knows if it says Mexican on the sign people will come. That is the case for this Indian Trail restaurant. It was just me so I was seated immediately. The service was lazy. She didn't know what a Texas margarita was that should have been the first red flag, so I got a regular margarita that was average. I got my chips and salsa that was just average. I can get better chips and salsa going to the grocery store and bringing it home. I ordered the Burrito Tijuana and a hard shell taco. I should have taken a picture but my burrito came out wrapped in aluminum foil with lettuce, sour cream, and some pico in a separate bowl. And it came out fast which makes me wonder if it was nuked in the microwave. The waitress never checked on me until it was time to give the bill. So I will not be back. I could have had just as good of food at Taco Bell and if I had to choose between this place and Taco Bell - I will go to Taco Bell.

I am disappointed to say that, after my initial review of this popular Indian Trail Tex-Mex joint, our last several visits have been barely average, at best. On this Friday night's visit, the place was only 20% full, however our four glasses sat empty for at least 10 minutes before I flagged down our server. The food itself was just okay. My wife did enjoy her Arroz con Pollo but my chicken tacos were lukewarm. The chips were also cold and somwhat stale. Lastly, although everything appeared clean, their sanitation score was a disturbing 91.5. Overall, it's not a bad place, but after my initial fours stars, I felt the need to update. If Yelp allowed I'd give it a 2.5 but will have to roundup to to a 3 instead.

This is the third time in a row that our take out order is wrong in a major way. We Kept trying to give them another chance because everyone has a bad day and because we are LONG time customers. Like 20 years. We called to explain the mistake on the order( I got something totally different from what I ordered) and they were rude to me! Just a heads up, this is not the same La Unica. The people or the food. They finally lost my business

Love the authenticity of the food. Tacos are very much like the ones I used to get on the street in west Texas. Bonus that they now have an alcohol license.
