La Fonda Colombiana

The food here is excellent! Went in on a weeknight and it was pretty empty. Servers and staff either can't or prefer not to speak English so be prepared with your Spanish skills if you aren't a native speaker. The portions are very big and absolutely delicious. Best food we've had on our visit to Monroe hands down. Only gripe was the chicharon skin almost broke my tooth. We just cut it off. It wasn't crunchy, it was a rock. Definitely worth a visit.

I ordered the Banja Paisa, which comes with chicharrón, steak, and sausage. The food was really good and flavorful. The restaurant's bright colors and fun decor added to the lively atmosphere. While it is pricier than other Colombian restaurants I've been to, they provided a large portion and high quality of the food. Overall, it was a nice meal.

Yeah...don't do it...had the carne asada and it was average at best. Came with rice, fried something and a cup of tomatowee (is that a word) beans. At least the rice was good but everything else including the server who spoke no English was not great. Sat at the bar at 4:43 pm on a Thursday...not a busy time but the place was dead other than 2 other ppl at the bar and she was a horrible server. one thing to not speak a lick of english but never check on me and to see if food was good or if i needed another beer.
