La Escondidita

Really liked this spot! Cute little authentic restaurant with tables and plays great music. I was in the area because I started a new job around here and was in the mood for some tacos. The two tacos I ordered, the shredded chicken and the steak, were both bomb! great flavor and were served with grilled onions and a lime. I finished every bite! Also got the nachos with chorizo on them and I loved em! Super tasty and everything was very fresh. The one thing I really didn't like though was the cheese sauce, I was really hoping for a white queso, that's really my only issue. The taste was a little off. My server was super sweet and I would definitely return! Good thing I speak Spanish because the whole menu was in español!

Delicious. Authentic. Good prices and will be back. One of the best Mexican we have had in North Carolina.

Food was Okay. Service was lousy 5 employees stood at register and conversed so loud we couldn't enjoy our meal. No one here but us.

Every-time I go, this place is absolutely amazing! I have no complaints ONLY that they change their prices often. (Like once every 3 months) A family a four average pays $15 pp , with food and drinks.I recommend the Quesabirria Tacos which is only available on the weekends & the green chilaquiles (if you like it spicy!) As well as an Horchata or Pina Colada (non alcoholic) to pair. Service is always good & they just recently renovated their little building , fits maybe 40-50 people comfortably. Definitely a place to go for some real good home made meals!

Great food, authentic flavors and good size tacos with plenty of meat. The salsa verde on the table is amazing

I visited La Escondidita at 6pm on a Saturday evening. There were several diners there including a Hispanic family which is always a sign of authentic food. I had three mini spicy pork tacos with a side of beans and a large mug of horchata (homemade) for under $10. The food was excellent! It was fun to listen to the ladies singing along with the music in the kitchen. I will definitely make this my permanent Mexican restaurant in Asheboro.

What a delight it was to eat here! The waiter was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and authentic. I ordered a tiny puffy tostada (garnacha), vegetarian, and it was only $2.50 because I had no meat. I could certainly have eaten three of them. I got a side order of plantains, which were served with grated cheese and a white creamy garnish (crema, I guess?), and they were delicious! This place will get a lot of business from me in the future, now that I have discovered it. I only wish they had fish tacos, but I'm not complaining! There was plenty more tasty things to try! Five stars for sure.

Very good authentic Mexican food , really enjoyed the el pastor , carne and pollo chorizo tacos . The taco shells are made in house and dipped in birria dip before they are cooked . Service was friendly and fast

OMG! Great authentic Mexican from the southern region, not TexMex. Wonderful service, albeit mostly Spanish speakers , but they're focused on providing great food and service. From the tortas to the burritos, it's worth it. Be sure and stop by on Tuesdays for mini tacos for $1.

We visited the NC Zoo and this place was on our way home. The near perfect reviews convinced us to try this restaurant. The server was very pleasant and helpful in explaining the menu. We had the Taco Tuesday special, all six flavors, and they were delicious. We added platinos and chips with guacamole. We will be back the next time we go to the Zoo!
