There are many Mexican restaurants in our area, but for authentic Mexican food, this is where you want to be. Everyone working there works as a team and offered great service. The menu is on a giant board with pictures of the items. Sometimes people feel they can't go to an authentic Mexican restaurant unless they speak the language... please be assured you will do just fine here! The food was exactly how I wanted it, phenomenal. I'll be back soon to try more items on the menu.

I have mixed feelings about La Casita. It came highly recommended by some friends and the reviews also are promising. I stopped in for a late lunch on a Thursday afternoon. It's an order at the counter type spot with some small tables for seating. The ladies at the front were friendly. I couldn't decide what I wanted and went with the El Alambre. My friend got the Flautas and we split the queso dip (which everyone said we must try!). The food was pretty good. The Alambre had nice flavor, and was enough for 2 meals. My friend's Flautas were also tasty she said and she was impressed with how crispy and piping hot they were. I thought the queso was good, but maybe a bit thin and bland for my liking. Prices were reasonable ($13.99 for the Alambre and $8.99 for the Flautas). I'm not clear on how much the queso was, but mine with a drink, queso, Alambre, and tip was $27. The drink options were bottles of soda, both plastic and glass, and what appeared to be homemade drinks that I wish we had tried. I will know for next time. So here's the thing...I think I would have been much more pleased if I had gotten it to go. The place itself is pretty small, it's clean but the longer we sat the more things I started to notice, like annoying flies and small bugs that were dead on the window sill. The bathrooms were pretty clean, but stuff stacked up in the hallway that leads to them, which is also right by the kitchen and I think these things (dirty dishes and such) could draw other bugs, etc. Overall, a solid choice for Mexican food in Greensboro. I'm not sure it's the absolute best, as others have said, but it's good and authentic. I will also mention it's about a 20 minute drive from me, and I'm not sure I'd make the trip again specifically for it but I'd probably go back if in the area.

Ima friend and I came to this hole in the wall Mexican restaurant on a whim. We were in the area to go to another restaurant that happened to be closed and we ended up here. Don't let the outside fool you, because I'd hate for folks to miss out on all the yummy goodness that they serve!!The restaurant is small and has a few booths to dine in. Also no alcohol is served here, but they do have the next best thing which is Coca Cola in a glass bottle!!My friend tried the Arroz con Pollo and I had the chili rellenos. We also ordered some churros and plantains to go. Everything was delicious! I will be bringing my husband back here sometime to try more of their menu!

Not quite a hole in the wall, but definitely gives the feel of the "this is one of the places the locals and Hispanics" eat. Authentic, personal home recipes is the best I can describe this restaurant. Definitely not one of your Mexican chains, majority of the menu is authentic dishes with their own recipe to it. (Now there are some "chain" dishes that they have for the more casual eaters). The food comes out hot and in good time. I appreciate the grilled green onions that come with the meal and all the food was seasoned and flavored well. The first time I got the Cuban Torta to go - this thing was massive! Full of all types of meats and cheese and also a fried egg. This could def. feed two people. Their tacos and plates are great, fresh pico with the meals. The sauces are alright, one is better than the other (can't remember if it was the red or green). The esquites were just ok - very watery and different from esquites I've had at other places. The staff is nice and don't rush you, even when you stand there wandering at their menu/pictures above the counter. They def check to see if you've enjoyed their food. Would recommend. Food: 4.5/5Service/Staff: 5/5Ambiance: 3.5/5Authenticity: 4.7/5

I found this place on a cold rainy day and was warmed by the greeting and food. Was sitting next to an employee from Fox News. He stated he came there once a week. If you watch that station you will recognize him. LolThe food was very authentic. Ordered the flautas with a side of beans. Very good. Verde sauce is hot and flavorful. Yum yum. Small seating area but clean. There are TV's on telemundo which brought back good memories for me. People are friendly, family oriented and I will be back again!

Was looking for caldo de res, not many options in Greensboro. Place was clean, staff were responsive and professional. Soup came out, immediately disappointed. Small portion, not full with vegetables (potatoes, carrots, corn, squash, cabbage), the meat portion was fair. But, tough as nails. For $15 (w/tax), and no glass of water option, the value is not there. The he broth was tasty, but it lacked the whole serving size as compared to other Mexican I frequent in Texas. Total bill was $21 as I had to buy a bottle of water.

The Cuban Torta was soggy & sloppy to eat. The meat was reheated & chewy. I could not eat it. The rice & beans were just ok- rice was very dry. My husband said the classic burrito was good. I chose them because of the good yelp reviews. But something must have changed. There are better Mexican restaurants in Greensboro.
