La Autentica Mexican Restaurant

This is still my favorite mexican restaurant in Charlotte outside of Mal Pan (which i put in a different higher end mex category). Food is standard mex fare and that is consistent, inexpensive and plentiful. Its great place to take family or groups. Good service, good food. I hear they are closing soon -and if thats true -they will be missed. They have indoor and patio dining which is nice.

I really enjoyed the crisp chips and spicy salsa. Got the ACP which was good but I have had better for sure. My friend ordered the chicken soup and the bowl was enormous and smelled great. Service was decent but not outstanding.

La Autentica is our favorite quick, easy go to mexican spot in Plaza Midwood! The staff is always friendly, and this spot is pretty big with a dining area inside, covered patio, and patio tables in the lot. The menu is huge, with something for everyone. You can't beat the prices either! We love coming here, and will continue to!

We all need a cheap hole in the wall Mexican restaurant in our lives where we can enjoy large portions and cheap margaritas. La Autentica has become one of my go-to's over the years. It is located on Central Ave in the Plaza Midwood neighborhood, and while it is unassuming and hard to even find they deliver when it comes to the food. They have daily specials including some killer Taco Tuesday deals, and the plates come piled with food so bring your appetite.

Chilaquiles Mexicanos, ask for spicy. One of the best dishes on the menu!! The torta can be a hit or miss but I love the chilaquiles. This is one of the better Mexican restaurants in the area as it's very difficult to find good Mexican food in Charlotte! (Coming from ATL so used to lots of options) not too sure how authentic this place is but it's decent. Definitely not like going to an authentic taqueria. (More Americanized)

Absolutely a "you get what you pay for" kind of place. $13 margarita pitcher was weak, but at least it was cheap! $9.99 enchiladas verdes were fine. Not much verde sauce on them and overall the food left much to be desired.

This is a review for the new location off of Matthews-Mint Hill Rd. My friends and I went on Thursday night to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant recently opened in this location and the renovation looks beautiful.The restaurant is so clean, open, and welcoming. The chunky guacamole is a must! So fresh and delicious. You also cannot go wrong with cheese dip. I ordered the pollo fundido dinner and it was so good! I really liked the taste of the chicken. The manager or owner even stopped by and thanked us for coming after the staff sang happy birthday to my friend. The staff was so welcoming and our service was excellent! The area really needed a good Mexican restaurant and this location is just that!

Decided to stop here for an early dinner as we were craving some Mexican. Arrived around 4 pm and was not busy at ALL. We sat down immediately and brought chips and salsa. The place itself is on the smaller side, but they do have outside seating for warmer weather. Our waiter was super nice and very efficient. I ordered a chicken burrito with rice and beans, and my son ordered a chicken milanesa torta with fries. The burrito was ok and did not look like a burrito. It looked like they just put shredded chicken inside a tortilla and half folded it and called it a day. None the less the rice and beans were tasting, and the cheese on top of the burrito was delicious. The torta and fries were delicious. The fries had just enough crisp to them and were delicious. Pretty decent place. I would probably return and try something different if I'm ever in the area again. They have a parking lot in the back of the building for you to lark at.

My favorite "hole-in-the-wall" restaurant in the area. Service and food never disappoints. Always delicious and always served friendly, I recommend this place to everyone!!

Hard to find but chips were so so good. The salsa was also great. Food took maybe 15 minutes so that was nice. The ground beef tacos were good as well.
