I felt like I was in the movie The Menu - but without the impending doom!Went for an event last Sunday, should have been more prepared to eat. But my stomach doesn't cooperate with me these days and sometimes I'm not up to it, but it was pre booked. Despite not being able to finish most of my food - I had such a lovely experience!Service was amazing - Crystal was excellent. My sister had called ahead and asked about gluten free and was informed she could note it on her booking. But when we got there we had to ask which made me nervous - I didn't want to be a pain and although my sister isn't allergic and won't get sick, it is something she's exploring for other health reasons in consultation with a nutritionist so she's trying to take it seriously. With an event like this with a set menu and everyone eating their courses together I was like uh oh... but they were able to accommodate with a delicious gluten free mushroom stuffed pasta. Cheers! The salad was my fav part - it was so colorful and delicious. And after having just been traveling a lot - I have wanted good salads so bad. It was an excellent size! The stuffed squash blossom wasn't my fav - I loved the texture of the fried flower but not so much the inside. But - that's just me, my sister loved hers. The ravioli mannnn - so good and I wanted to drink the broth (I should have). The meat and veggies - SO BIG. The salsa verde I could have drank as well and it was delicious on the meat. The veggies had a lovely char on them. I took a lot home!Thai basil shaved Ice with whipped custard (if I'm remembering properly) was such a surprise and tasty and refreshing. A really nice end to a large meal. And my cocktail was amazingggg and so bright on a hot day. Also loved: the vibe, the open kitchen, the bathrooms (I drank so much water I legit peed five times while I was there). Would like to go back - hungrier.

I'm so thankful Charlotte has restaurants like L'Ostrica - it elevates the food scene of the city. Every dish was thoughtful, every bite was flavorful, and the staff was so nice and welcoming. The restaurant is beautiful with giant windows and a modern sleek interior. If you're looking for a tasting menu and great cocktails, I highly recommend L'Ostrica!

Thoughtful designed menu and great balance between farm to table ingredients and internationally inspired cuisine. The lamb was impressive and the best one I had in Charlotte. Overall the use of herbs and spices was good. The first two we had were a bit salty, and the chef corrected the taste after we shared the opinion. Being a tasting menu, we did expect some level of creativity which was mostly presented by the ravioli and dessert.Cocktails were awesome. We did not get wine pairing, but the cocktail added a punch of flavor to the dining experience. Our server introduced every dish in a nice way and was knowledgeable about the menu.Reservations required for tasting menus but walk in acceptable at the bar for a la carte. Free parking. It's fine dining but a rather casual atmosphere.

Phenomenal dining experience even as a walk in for bar seating opposed to the tasting menus. Drinks and food you can tell were made meticulously with great attention to detail. I'll be going back to try the Sunday Supper asap - not 100% sure if tasting menus are worth it from the perspective of cost versus amount of food just from looking over at the tables participating. Taste-wise and how elevated of an experience it is I'm sure make it worth while though

Stopped by to pick up a sandwich of the day on our way out of town. Check their IG for what the SOTD is. Today, we were blessed with a spicy fried chicken sandwich. Best fried chicken sandwich I've had. Soft, pillowy bun with perfectly crispy and seasoned chicken add a smear of creamy mayo and fresh shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. Perfection. The space is beautiful with tons of natural light and modern decor. Can't wait to come back and try one of the set Sunday dinners!

I dined here for one of their recent Sunday Suppers and it blew me away!! Outside of their regular service they host casual Sunday Suppers, which are coursed dinners built around a different theme -- everything from the food to the cocktail and wine list revolves around that theme. Service is exceptional and the experience is intentional with every detail.Sunday Suppers are a great way to introduce yourself to the absolutely amazing food, cool atmosphere, and creative drinks of L'Ostrica, IMO, for only $75/pp without diving into their larger format 8-10 course tasting menus, which range from $110-175/pp. But once you have Sunday Supper, you're going to absolutely buy into the larger formatting tasting menus like I did...the quality and value are a complete match! The Sunday Supper I attended was "All The Pastas," fusing together familiar pasta favorites with modern techniques. Standout dishes were - Butternut Agnolotti with brown butter and freshly shaved truffle - Crab with leek sauce and fresh lemon served in a crepe styleOwner Eric Ferguson has worked at Stagioni, Barrington's, and Good Food on Montford in Charlotte. He also worked at Michelin-star restaurant Quince in San Francisco, which is one of my favorite restaurants! He honed his pasta-making craft in Umbria, Italy. Eric co-owns the restaurant with Cat Carter, a food writer and branding/marketing specialist. They plan to use the space as a market and even dabble in lunch and brunch. So much more exciting things to come!

This place is FIVE STARS for me. The tasting menu ranges from 5 to 7 or 10 to 12 with wine pairing or mocktails if you choose. When you come in you are met with the warmest smile from the lovely lady upfront and that sets the tone for a wonderful dining experience. The food was absolutely exquisite and the wine was delightful. I am already planning my return.

Very demure! What a real adventure. The tasting menu was a real treat. Very tiny portions but each are loaded with bursts of flavor and texture. The wine parings are on point with each tasting and expertly delivered with intriguing facts about each vintage. During our courses, we had a few different servers visit our table to ensure we were having a great time. The mostly glass dining room with high ceilings added to the feeling of a spacious restaurant when in fact the square footage would be considered intimate. A wall of wine on one side, a glass wall with a view of the night life on the other provides options for any diner. The four guys in the kitchen seemed to love their job as they kept joking around and conversing during the prep work for each course. It was nice to see them putting a lot of pride in their work. The dining room chairs are SO comfortable which makes it easy to let time slip away during your experience. Parking is easy and hospitality is on point. Honestly, I also wish I could have had an entire bowl filled with their pasta. The 5 small pieces only teased my appetite for carbs. Ha! Cost of the tasting experience may be a limiting factor for many, but they do offer a bar dining experience that is more à la cart. Do not show up in your pajamas here, this is more upscale but not stuffy. Very pleasurable experience with creative dishes! Ten out of ten would recommend.

I had a wonderful 5-course dinner at L'Ostrica in Montford! I started with one of the signature drinks- the Mulberry Street, which you will love if you like a subtle strawberry flavor. My favorite course was the pheasant ravioli with the parmesan topping, and the New York Strip, served a perfect medium well with a cauliflower cream and au jus. They have a wonderful selection of wine-- including a stunning Barolo that changed my brain chemistry, and the servers are not only so friendly, but incredibly knowledgeable about the sourcing of the ingredients and willing to share that knowledge with you! Highly recommend!

L'Ostrica is where you go before you ask someone to marry you (ESPECIALLY if you're not sure about their answer.)I would describe the food as DECADENT, with a developed DEPTH of flavor, but also BALANCED. Even in the simplest courses, like the 3 bean salad, the acidity of the lemon and quantity of dill are EXACTLY right, as if the ratios have been perfected via food science more than artistry. The spring onion-parmesan soup is classic French excess. I ordered some from their marketplace and tried the first spoon cold. I ended up eating the entire soup cold simply because I couldn't be bothered with the time to heat it. And the chicken sandwich -- I didn't realize a chicken sandwich could be elevated to this level. You can taste that the buns are baked in house and that they were designed to be THE bread to accompany this perfect, flash fried chicken. Everything at L'Ostrica is thoughtful. Finally, I'd note that if you're someone like me that might be turned off by a dish plated to look like a painting -- afraid that the importance has been placed on pomp over flavor. Just go. Try out the restaurant during their lunch hours 11-3, W-Su, and hit up their marketplace. It's a casual way to introduce yourself to their food and see for yourself. 5 STARS
