Kung Poa Express

We've been going to this place since we chanced upon it few years back and have been hooked since. We mostly get takeout from here but food is ready in a very reasonable time. So far we have had the General Tso chicken, Kung Pao chicken/shrimp, sesame chicken, moo goo gai pan, hot pepper chicken and the kung poa spicy noodle soup and they have all been absolutely delicious. Serving sizes are pretty generous but we especially love their lunch specials because you can get two things and it's such a great bang for your buck!

I'm a sucker for cheap Americanized Chinese food lunch specials. I used to be able to find decent eats for around $5, but under $10 is all I can hope for these days. At this place you get 2 orders of food with your lunch special. Of course it isn't quite 2 full servings, but it is nice to have some diversity with lunch.This place is now my favorite Chinese lunch special in the area (Not that the Northlake area has much in the way of competition). Fast, friendly and tasty. All the attributes I'm looking for in lunch. General Tso's, sesame chicken, Kung Pao chicken are all great. I just wish they came with a little more vegetables. The chicken and mixed vegetables is decent, but I'm not a huge fan of the sauce on that one.This place isn't super legit traditional Chinese like you'll find at Cherry Blossom or Lam's Kitchen, but it certainly scratches the itch for what most people around these parts call Chinese food. Also, you can get a quick soda next door at the gas station if you want!

Great food made to order! Very nice staff and fast service. My daughter lives a mile away and her fiancé recommended this place. We will be regulars when we are in town!

I brought my mother here today for our first and only time eating at this restaurant. I was excited to try it after reading the majority of reviews. I walked in around 3pm and asked if they were still serving lunch or not. The sweet lady behind the counter said lunch was over, so we looked at the menu and I ordered while my mom was still deciding. About a minute after telling my order to the woman, the man (cook) looked at me and said, "LUNCH IS FROM 11 TO 3. DO YOU EAT LUNCH EVERY DAY AT 4pm?" He was so flipping rude I could not believe it. I didn't say a word to him at any time, so I'll say it now...Hey buddy, keep your mouth shut and cook if you are not capable of being pleasant! Portions are large but my rice was scorched and didn't have much flavor other than burnt rice until I added sriracha and soy sauce. So not worth it.

Great Chinese take out spot! This place is small and attached to the 7/11. It was very nice inside and service was great! They are take out only.I ordered the lunch special which is a choice of 2 proteins and either white rice or fried for $9. I chose the general tso's chicken and sesame chicken with fried rice. The food was ready within minutes. The portions were pretty big. I was able to split it with my sister and we were both full. The general tso's chicken was nice and crispy! The sesame chicken was flavorful but some pieces were a little softer, maybe too much batter. The fried rice was ok. It didn't have much flavor and I wish it had some veggies inside.Overall, the food was great and I'll definitely come back again!

The food. The Kung Pao Chicken was the worst I've ever had. I'm not even sure there was actual chicken in it as it seemed to be burned fat and only a few barely recognizable chunks that could have been chicken. I won't be going back. I gave this 1 star, but it deserves a 0.

I had a terrible experience with the lady at the register she was being extremely rude and I was just simply asking questions about the food and then proceeded to tell me no outside drink when I had a empty water bottle and there where other customers with water bottles and she did not say anything to them also the food was extremely salty I don't know if it was on purpose or not but there where literal clumps of salt in my food not good

I ordered their spicy seafood noodle soup to-go & seem to get more than when I eat there, which is a good thing. Their service is always courteous & friendly. They also have a really good lunch menu if you don't have much time & want to have a quick Chinese meal

Me and my mom come here often but we had bugs in our fried rice takeout. The first issue we ran into was hair in our food months ago and yesterday we had this problem. Its very disappointing because the food is good here
