We were taken to a table right away, our food was good. I really liked the gyoza. I wish they had cooked the chicken in teryaki instead of just pouring some on top, it was still good though. The atmosphere was nice, clean and I look forward to going back.

Great little spot! The prices are fair and I love that they still do the fancy "smoke"/dry ice for the specialty rolls. This was only an $18 roll, which is fair for specialty roll prices. Loved the mango in this dish! The service was prompt and friendly and the ambiance was nice with low lighting and comfortable seating. We'll be back!

This is a small spot in the shopping center anchored by a small Walmart on one end and Clemmons Kitchen at the other end.The center is busy but there is ample parking.I ordered the Fried Soft Shell Crab appetizer ($10) and the Steak and Shrimp Hibachi ($21) that comes with fried rice, grilled vegetables, soup & salad with ginger dressing. Finished off the order with a Kirin Ichiban beer. The soup and salad was out quickly, and both were quite nice. The ginger dressing was plentiful and the flavor was perfect. The Soft Shell Crab was next. It was coated in a tempura batter and fried to a nice, crispy texture. On its on the crab lacked flavor, but the somewhat sweet sauce, that was served cold, added a lot of flavor. The Hibachi arrived shortly and this is a lot of food, but then again it is a pricy item, especially at lunch. I had been ask how I wanted my steak cooked, and it was cooked perfectly to medium rare - the taste was very nice.I didn't care for the sauce on the shrimp, probably a version of Yum Yum sauce- too sweet for my taste. would exclude on a reorder. The fried rice was excellent, with a good amount of green peas, corn, carrot, and a bit of onion - the texture was nicely moist as expected. The vegetables ( zucchini, broccoli, sliced carrot, and sliced onion) were fresh tasting and still had a bit of crunch.Note: their suggested tip amount does not include sales tax!Ambiance - 4.5Food - 4Service 4.5Value - 3.5

We have always enjoyed Koto. We have been going here for more th an 5 years and we are always surprised people don't know about this gem. The food never disappoints and we always enjoy sitting at the sushi chef bar for friendly interaction and sometimes food surprises. Servers are always friendly and quick. Family friendly location and space. Last night we enjoyed the sexy jalapeno appetizer, rainbow roll and eel avocado roll. Over the years we have enjoyed so much from Japanese curry, hot pot and tempura vegetables. Always enjoy some Nigori sake too.

Koto always gets it right! They're a great combination of delicious foods, large menu, kind service, nice atmosphere, and overall great experience. I had noodles and veggies with a salmon roll on our most recent visit and it was all excellent. They were very nice and quick as always and very accommodating to us with our child seat.

We picked up from here for dinner last night and we really enjoyed everything we got! Had a garden salad with ginger dressing which came with a lot of lettuce, usually I feel like places skimp on the serving of the lettuce. the dressing was on the creamier side which I was surprised about but it was SO good!We split a spicy salmon roll, really good. Nothing special but a solid roll.I had the chicken pad Thai and got the spicy chili sauce on the side. Sometimes the pad Thai in this area is on the sweeter side but this one was perfect for my preference (I like a more savory/spicy pad Thai). I added just a drop or the sauce and it had the perfect heat.I didn't get a picture but my husband got the beef fried rice and it was SO good. Not usually something I would order but I honestly would order it for myself next time hahaHighly recommend!

The service is the star attraction at Koto. From the moment I arrived until my departure, I was well attended without feeling overburdened. While many other patrons were present, it seemed as though the staff were constantly maintaining a sense of what I might need and then anticipating it. In other words, this is what restaurant service should be. You'll find Koto in a Clemmons shopping center, situated just down the way from the Walmart neighborhood store. While the building isn't exactly a lovely sight, the interior of the restaurant is pleasant enough, though maybe a bit dark and certainly not fancy. My meal started out with clear soup and a bowl of salad. Both of these were in line with my expectations, though it was unusual to find a bit of tomato in the salad -- not something that's common in the Japanese restaurants I've visited. Then it was on to the main course: beef yakiniku with a bowl of brown rice. The flavors were nice though the thin slices of beef were occasionally a bit tough. There was certainly no shortage of grilled onions on the plate; I may have eaten an entire onion or more. My actual score would be about 3.8 stars, as Koto offers reasonably good food matched by great service. Though there are a wealth of Asian dining options in the area, you'd be no worse for wear choosing this one.
