This restaurant has been open for probably a little over a year. It's in the middles of strip mall with Famous Toastery/Showmars on one end and Mexican Restaurant on the other. Same area as Lowes and Aldi'sI've been three of four times and each time I order the Special which they now call Kanpai Sushi Lunch. It's a California Roll with 5 pieces of Nigiri and Hot Soup. You can for a few bucks more, get a nice house salad to go with it.It's very good and while I cannot definitely prove it, would surmise that the California Roll is not made to order and was probably assembled sometime earlier in the day. The reason that I say this is because the starch in the pieces of Sushi have begun to stick together because of the Starch in the Rice. In many cases, you have to break the individual sushi pieces apart with a fork. They are fused together to the point that chop sticks do not work Something like this normally does not occur till several hours after the roll is prepared.I would guess that the Nigiri is fresh and made to order and they are very good.The hot soup is excellent and I strongly recommend.With this I ordered Hot Tea which was excellent along with the Salad which was a nice touch.Restaurant is nice and clean and the staff is well organized and efficient. Good place to grab a quick lunch if you're in the mood for something different.

Kanpai, or Cheers as it means in Japanese is celebrating its one year anniversary. They have a 3 course menu available currently. We have been multiple times. Staff is friendly and fun. They have a nice bar with solid selection of cocktails and nightly drink specials. Their prices have gone up, but I am sure so have food costs. My family of four eats well and the wife and I each have a cocktail. We can't walk out of there for under $100. Here's my three things:1) Sushi is good quality but rolls are on the small side but very well done. They also do custom rolls which makes my daughter happy. 2) It's one of Denver's best ran restaurants. They have a good vibe, live music some nights, and good for date night on the weekends. 3) They have a nice selection of wines, sakè, and beers on tap. It looks like they have a menu for football Sundays and a few TV's behind the bar.

We went here with a friend cause he recommended it. I love some good sushi and it's hard to find. Well i haven't found it yet. I do have to say it was decent. The service was horrible the night we went. Took forever to get our order in, the waitress was just absent, we had to pull other servers to get drinks, was just bad. I got three speciality rolls, which were just not special at all (dragon roll, g crunch roll, and spicy tuna....and another roll but forgot the name). The rolls i ordered just weren't anything special and did not reflect the cost. The ambiance was good, they had a live music night which was cool...but be prepared to have loud conversations.

This was our 14th trip to Kanpai. The food is always good, once you get it. Each time, the bar is dreadfully slow as normally I have ask where are drinks are and getting a second drink, just forget it. Lastly, we always have to ask for appetizer plates. Seriously! Tonight, all the same, except the service got even worse as we had to ask for things over and over. They then forgot our Sushi roll and finally brought it after everyone else was done eating, "the ticket was lost", then they wanted to charge us for it. The manager then said we had to pay for it since we ate it! Then I pushed back and they refunded it. The manager (female) would not talk to us. The service is just lacking. I have spent over $1000 there easy and I used to be so excited to go. Now, there is one more place in Denver I will not frequent. I hope 16 Prime remains top notch!

I found this fairly new restaurant (opened October, 2023) on Yelp! Thanks to my fellow Yelpers. I stopped in for a take out order. Their website says they are prepared for to go orders but they are now. The site doesn't include a menu or much else. The restaurant had a good number of customers at the time and but the time I left around 7:15, it was 98% full. The staff at the front were exceptionally cordial and answered my questions. They are looking for more staff members so that they can open for lunch. I ordered the Dragon Roll (3/5), Seaweed Salad (3/5), and Wagyu Fried Rice (5/5). The salad and sushi were just okay. Now, the Wagyu Fried Rice was divine! I am giving the restaurant 3/5 stars because the serving size (see photo) was not quite up to par considering the prices (my strong opinion). Otherwise, this is a nice, quaint restaurant for date night or a night with friends and family. Reservations are accepted.

Excellent food and sushi. Staff is friendly and nice. One of the best Japanese restaurants I've been to. Ambiance is great.

Came on Sunday at noon and the place was empty which concerned us. We persevered and wow are we glad we did. Food was excellent!! We had the Hibachi Chicken and the Hibachi shrimp. Food was perfectly cooked, great flavor and came out quickly. Highly recommend.

Kanpai is our go-to spot for the best Sushi and Hibachi in Lake Norman. Everything on the menu is excellent and the service is great. Try the Rock n Roll Sushi Roll and the Hibachi Filet with Fried Rice. We always have a great time here for a weekday lunch or dinner with friends!

Food was great! Brooke provided excellent service, and the MOD Danielle came to talk to us. I was very pleased with her willingness to go above the normal expectation in making sure we had a great experience and will return.
