Johnny's Farmhouse Restaurant

So - first of all - this place is now know. As the Mooresville Family House. Not sure when the new name and management came but here we are. I started with the orzo tomato spinach soup with feta ($3.99). I wasn't sure what to expect as I get a pasta salad done similarly but I can tell you that I was highly impressed with the tomato based broth, the depth of the broth, creamy consistency of the orzo and pieces of fresh spinach. A side of crumbled feta accompanied it to toss in - and it definitely added to the flavors!!!I originally came here for the fried catfish - and it did not disappoint! Two pieces of fish, two sides (collards and broccoli cheese) and hushpuppies was $16.99. I had originally gotten the squash but I'm not a fan of breaded and fried. My server was gracious and let me swap it out. My service was quick, my server was the absolute sweetest and I'm already trying to figure out my next visit!

Fried chicken ok but wanted to charge me $1 for honey for cornbread. Should have gone to KFC like I started. Handful of honey no charge at kfc. Sat at booth with restaurant almost empty but hostess sat small children directly behind my booth that kicked. Very annoying I had to move. Service was fine. Greeedy over charging for stuff like ranch and honey I won't be back.

Cheap and fantastic breakfast. I can come get a full breakfast for less than 10 dollars and it is filling. The wait staff is always alert.

Went for breakfast and had the blueberry pancakes and they were out of this world delicious. Service was impeccable and even though there is a lot of seating, it still felt private. I am going back for more!!

Johnnys name was replaced with Mooresville. Still same great food and service. Great deserts and large salads are a plus.

We were in Mooresville antiquing and decided to try this restaurant. Wow everything was delicious. The restaurant was super clean. Our waitress was very nice and we enjoyed everything we had. I had the cowboy burger, my son had the pimento and pickle hamburger. My husband had the barbecue cheddar chicken sandwich. We shared the loaded homemade chips. Definitely will be back!

Stopped in around 5 Sunday afternoon. Seated quickly. Said we needed a high chair. The host didn't bother to get us one or silverware. Literally tossed the menus on the table and walked away. He did tell me the long list of items they were out of for dinner. Pork chops, popcorn shrimp, chicken pot pie (which is Sunday special), rolls, broccoli and more were not available. Our waitress was very sweet but likely new at her job. Our orders were taken and delivered pretty quickly. I had jumbo shrimp with hush puppies and rice. The shrimp was excellent. My husband got blackened salmon that was very tasty. The fried squash was interesting. Not sure I would order it frequently. Order a kid's meal for our one year old. Stupid on our part. $9+ for a grilled cheese, no side and they don't have milk. Totally not worth the price. The decorations on the walls could use some cleaning. Literally something was dripping off one of the signs. The whole place felt a bit dirty to me. We'd likely go back but might call ahead to see what they are out of.

Makalyn is one of the best servers I've ever had the pleasure of meeting! She made the whole dining experience phenomenal with her hospitality and warm personality, and she was incredibly efficient with the service! If you go, I highly recommend for her!

After seeing LOTS of reviews, we gave it a try. Listen, the menu is extensive and the pricing is inexpensive. Solid daily specials. Big portions. Decent flavors. A few minor areas for improvement like clarification on paying bill. We'd visit again.

Went for lunch after church. Ordered fried chicken that came out RAW in the middle! (My sides were also not what I ordred)... sent the chicken back and it came back raw on the inside, again. Everything else was okay but I was jonesing for friend chicken and was incredibly disappointed. They also don't have enough staff for a busy after-church crowd - there was a long wait with several tables open but not bussed and the servers had too many tables to provide quality service.
