Great neighborhood park with a dedicated parking lot.The park is well shaded and has a bunch of cool stuff that can help your kids burn off some of that excess energy. The very large playground structure sits on a soft mulch base. Lots of climbing and steps and slides and a bridge to keep kids occupied. There are two separate picnic areas, both have grills. The swingset is in good condition. The restroom structure is open even during the pandemic (thank you!).Six tennis courts are fenced in as well. The gazebo is quite pretty for photos.[Review 13419 overall, 738 of 2020.]

Nice park. This only shows the tennis court, but there is also a playground. Popular spot for birthday parties. There is a short trail in the back of the park, but it's really only good for peeing in the woods or teenagers making out. As far as tennis goes, I'm not a tennis player. I'm just an athlete that plays tennis. I was down 3-0 and 5-2 in the first set and told myself I was going to break his heart and did: 7-5, 6-4, 6-2. He is good opponent, though. The courts here are a little tight but they're very well kept and you can turn the lights on at night and play for a long time.

Another great park in Charlotte - Huntersville, which is located about 2 blocks from discovery place kids. There aren't many parks my son doesn't like but he loves this one. There's plenty of shade in the summer with large mature trees lining the back side of the park. I've been extremely surprised at how few parks that have this luxury. There are two large play areas - one for small children and one for larger kids (recommended for 5-12 year olds). In addition to the play areas they also have a swing set, tennis courts, and a picnic area. As an added bonus they've added quite a few benches. There isn't a ton of parking but I've never had an issue finding a spot. If the lot connected directly to the park is full there is some spill over parking next to the baseball diamond across the street.
