Java's Brewing Bakery & Cafe

Saturday afternoon south of everywhere and I can get a regular drip coffee? came across an outburst of modern life as I was running out of coffee and figured I should while I could so I did and got a cannoli along with...really would have been satisfied with open and today's coffee so even in the middle of pre-closing side work this was way way better. coffee was recent and good but needed a little reheat which meant blasting my traveler with the frother-steamy thing from the cappuccino-ator... and that was the absolute crazy thing for the month. SO. COOL!!!...other than that it's a nice enough spot for a cup of goodness and a bite in what will soon be a sea of humanity but for now is still a stone's throw off :-) pleasant, helpful help, comfortable surroundings, and open on Saturday afternoon.

Believe me when I say... this place has THE BEST Muffins. They are baked fresh, and chances are when you walk in, they'll be putting some fresh pastries into the case. I've been visiting for the last 2 years, and recently, there seems to have been an ownership change. I assure you, they still serve up the same delicious high-qaulity baked goods. It's always an amazing customer experience and we end up picking up way too many pastries! The spinach pastry, as well as the strawberry and cheese are highly recommended. Flaky, crusty, perfection. If you appreciate baked goods made on site, throughout the day, definitely check out Java. I think going fresh makes all the difference and keeps me coming back for more.

Love the new owner! Friendly and welcoming. Doing great changes to the place. The food taste better then before. Love that now they also carry Waxhaw Creamery ice cream so I don't need to drive down to downtown Waxhaw. Also appreciate the outside sitting so I can bring my dogs !

Nice place to take a lunch break. The menu is very simple.. Nice folks. Nice space. :)I hope they make it over time, and get more business in over time!! !!

The Grinch May Have Stolen Christmas but he sure was super moist and flavorful from Java's Brewing Bakery. No seriously! This cake was a hit at our Ugly Sweater gathering and our guests are still singing the baker's praise. As every baker knows, its hard to find a cake that looks good and taste good - usually one suffers for the other however not my Grinch cake - It looked and tasted yummy! Its was perfectly topped with the right amount of frosting and accomodated all my 25 guests with leftovers for the following week. The service here is suberb! They go above and beyond to meet your request and end products speaks for itself.

I have driven past this place for sometime wanting to check it out. I went there hoping to find a cake or a piece of cake to celebrate a special day. I did not see any cakes. Upon walking up to the counter, a worker (male) came from seating down at the main dining area to behind the counter. I do have to say he did not go and wash his hands. I purchased three muffins (French toast, cranberry and another flavor). I also purchased a feta and spinach pastry. A young lady who seemed to be in training came from the back and completed my purchase. My husband said the feta and spinach pastry was really good. He said the muffins were dense. I did try all three muffins and agreed they were dense. They were flavorful though. When paying I was asked if I was paying by cash or credit card, I asked what difference that would make in terms of pricing. At that moment I saw the sign on the counter. No discount was given, I was told I would save on not paying the service fees. Time will tell if I go back.

I don't know what happened, but this place has gone downhill fast. A previous visit, the service was strange and terrible. We gave it another try. Granted, we went in 25 minutes before closing. The young gal behind the counter was not happy we were there. No greeting and all lights were turned off in displays. They had items available, but we couldn't see them. It was awkwardly obvious our later arrival wasn't appreciated. We won't be back. Such a sad shame. We used to come nearly every week. We were always greeted warmly, no matter when we arrived. Folks working there genuinely took pride in their job and the establishment. Now it is in the hands of people JUST doing their job, looking at their watch in anticipation of leaving. Java is no longer special. What the heck happened???

How are you gonna sell iced coffee but not have simple syrup to use for sweetener? Granulated sugar doesn't dissolve, so it doesn't sweeten the coffee. I'm at a loss.

New ownership has been great. The interior is much cleaner and less dusty. I like to go in the mornings when the muffins are still warm. Their chai tea is a made from a mix they make themselves and I enjoy it a lot.

Awesome customer service, very friendly and made excellent recommendations. This place is a gem in Waxhaw. Everything we got was fantastic, highly recommend!
