Japanese Express

Best sushi on the east coast. This is BY FAR the MOST authentic sushi I've had in YEARS. I can tell the fish is local. From the moment I entered, I knew I was eating food made by a true professional. I will be back

We stopped by Japanese Express to grab a quick lunch while we were on the road. The best part of our meal is that we got exactly what we paid for - nothing super special or fancy, but everything was super cheap and came in massive portions. We even made 3 meals out of it!We got the Teriyaki Chicken and Hibachi Chicken entrees. Both came with a side of rice and sweet carrots. We also shared a side of vegetables because we thought this might not be enough food, but we were wrong - it was a feast!Overall, don't come here expecting some high-end Japanese, but if you're looking for some cheap, filling hibachi, this is a good spot for you.

Very slow. I was the only customer with no one else entering or leaving. Took over half an hour to get sushi, and when I got home one of the rolls wasn't what I'd ordered. The rest were passable; better than grocery store sushi.

Ended up stumbling upon Japanese Express on my way from Ridgecrest Conference Center in Black Mountain. What I expected to be a quick stop for gas and fast food led me to this place. This place is accurately named! We were able to place our hibachi and sushi order and get our food pretty quickly in order to get back on the road. I was a bit skeptical to order sushi for myself because I am really particular about my sushi and didn't want to be disappointed. My friend ordered a crab roll and I tried a piece and it was pretty good. I've had bad sushi and I've had excellent sushi, and this faired in between. My hibachi steak and shrimp was also pretty good. It came with fresh broccoli, mushrooms, and sweet carrots and shrimp sauce. I ate all of it! This was a good find!

Okay...i gotta be honest, I'm not a sushi expert so keep that in mind...Our party of 3 were all completely satisfied and really happy with sushi selections we made. We shared the Beautiful roll, 911 roll and the Happy roll. All were delicious. They tasted fresh and none of them, in my opinion, were fishy. The portions are large enough that, even with the guy in our party having a large appetite, we couldn't finish it all. I love that the fried variety aren't greasy and the fact that they're lightly fried is almost unnoticeable; they do it well. Its also important to note that they're not skimpy with the seafood ingredients or the sauces - which are also fresh and really yummy. The service is relatively quick and their staff is attentive. Im a fan and I'll definitely be back.

Couldn't decide between all the restaurants in this strip mall but it said express and we were in a hurry. A little skeptical bc it only had 2 stars. Stepped in to a very clean restaurant. Our table was promptly waited on. There was a steady flow of customers. Food came out in about 10 mins. It was excellent flavor and presentation. Husband order the hibachi steak and I had teriyaki chicken. Everything was delicious. Btw, very nice and clean bathrooms also.

I thoroughly love this place. I am glad they are here. They are reasonably priced, and their sushi is excellent. Once in a while do I do their hibachi entree. I went there mainly for their sushi and ordered my usual, the sushi and sashimi combo. Nowhere else within the area offered this deal. The price had jacked up, but I understand entirely as their foods are well prepared and made. Their service could be improved, but the owners are fine people.

No customer service, boy at counter obviously did not want to be there. Steak was tough and the broccoli was not cooked well. Place was dirty.

Don't even think about going to Chinese buffet next door, you'll regret not coming here! Super fire and flavorful food

Bland food, no flavor, dining room was cold, extremely overpriced for what it was. Save your money
