Jalapenos Mexican Restaurant

We have been here a couple times now. Today's lunch was just so-so. We both love Mexican food, and think It should have lots of depth and full of flavor. There are many (too many) items available on their menu, we try to have something a little different each time we visit. So far there hasn't been one stand out item. I was very disappointed with the tacos de carne asada. The meat had no seasoning. I added a little salsa and even asked for some lime wedges to help brighten up the flavor, which is always my go to for asada. Unfortunately the only flavor to be found was an overwhelming cilantro taste, even the onions were bland. The tortillas were split 3/4 through so it was difficult to eat as a taco without the meat and cilantro falling to my plate (hopefully). The rice tasted like it came out of a box cooked with a little mexican tomato sauce. Truly underwhelmed by my lunch today.

This place is pretty damned decent. Let me preface that. I'm from Southern California, where there are tons of good Mexican restaurants (what with being next to Mexico and all). While not quite up to those standards, for this area, this place is one of the better ones. Despite being really busy on weekends, we usually get our order quick and the food is decent. Great guacamole, white meat chicken enchiladas, good fajitas. (Nothing better than a cold Negra Modelo and some steak fajitas). Yep. If you're looking for Mexican in this area, this place es muy bueno.

Been here multiple times over the last year. The food is always good but sometimes the service is hit or miss. That's the only thing keeping them from 5 stars in my opinion. It just sucks to be a regular at an establishment yet still feel isolated by half of it's the staff. I suppose thats why my family & i have only visited twice this year. As opposed to 'twice a month' in 2018.

Jalapeños is pretty good Mexican food for a restaurant. I've tasted the best home made and know how the food is supposed to taste. Anyway their carnitas are very good. I love tacos but their best tacos are the carne asada tacos. The carnitas tacos are good too. Hot sauces are fine. The shrimp soup is one of our favorites. I like Pollo Con Crema which is chicken and onions and sometimes peppers in a cheesy creamy sauce. I don't make it at home. I like theirs. Drinks are very good. Restaurant is not fancy but it's clean. The only thing I can think of that could be improved are the enchiladas. Most Mexican restaurants make them the same. I've tried them all. They're ok and I'm sure many customers like them as they are. The menu has a good selection of items to choose from. The staff are friendly. There is a nice outdoor area if you like eating outside. The menu has many selections to choosefrom. If you like Mexican food you should like this place.

Quality of food was not good but the service was outstanding and you could see sports on their televisions if needed.

We had dinner here Sunday, early evening. The food was prepared well, however chips were a different story. There was a handful of fresh, warm chips on top but underneath was a half basket of broken chips. They obviously don't waste them, just share the leftovers with the next diner. Check your basket.

Dirty, poor service, food was bleh and not hot. Would not recommend at all. Will not go back.

Incredible meal! I would highly recommend Jalepenos Restaurant. Food, drinks, staff, everything was fantastic.
