Izzi 'Que Barbeque

I really want to love Izzi 'Que, but...! I have been many times, but this is the first time that I have taken the time to give a review.First I will begin with the positives. The BBQ is fabulous! I've had the sliders, nachos and pork fries. The meat is smoky and flavorful. The atmosphere and restaurant design is very inviting, cozy and appealing. The service is top notch. The bartender has a clean, almost lab-like work space. The bar has a frost rail built into the bar top to keep your beer frosty cold! So what is the problem? Well, more often than not, the amount of delicious meat is very lacking! Anything I've tried seems scant of meat. You taste, but never have I felt it was a fair amount of meat. Online menu pictures show the proper meat ratio. Make your food like those pictures! Clara Peller used to say, "Where's the beef?" I'm saying "Where's the pork?"Also, there are lots of taps, but no specials. The beer we had tasted flat, it should have been the dollar off special! I really feel for the owner. There seems to be potential, but "special" is lacking! Look at Pleasant City....Tuesday night you can't get a seat. The specials Pleasant City run on Tuesdays is a good way to introduce people to your special place. So my advice, add a little more delicious meat to plates and run some specials.

Amazing food! The BBQ Nachos appetizer are incredible tasting and huge.Great selection of higher end / allocated bourbons but WAAAAAAAAAY overpriced. $65 for a 1.5oz pour of Blanton's Gold! C'mon man.......Would return for the food when in Shelby

I've visited twice now and overall I like this place. The service is good, but last time it seemed like the issue was the place being short staffed so we had to wait a bit longer than usual. The price of food seems a bit high for a local joint but with the nice atmosphere I think it's worth it.The food is great with a nice variety. I would definitely suggest people visit whether you're a local or out of town.

Ambiance is great! The wait staff are great!! Monica in bar was tremendous.. however, today, that is where things stopped. Took an hour for the food, meat was a bit on dry side. They initially completely forgot my sides.. had to ask for them. I asked the bar tender to see if there was some compensation for waiting so long and the food somewhat dry. She asked the owner who refused any customer comp other than a free desert for my bday. Maybe it was because I still took the food. Any, drove 30 miles to come here and it failed on me. Last time was great, today not so much..

Very unassuming from the outside, but take a step in and you won't be disappointed. Great atmosphere, very attentive staff, delicious takes on bbq! Will return!

Excellent barbecue! I ordered the brisket entree ($20), the brisket was really good and very tender. It was melt in your mouth tender. Also had the deviled eggs as an appetizer those were good as well. They do live music on the weekends. I'm not sure about weekdays. At the bar they have this ice bar where you can set your drink on and it stays cool. I have never seen that at a bar before so it was cool to see. Haha. I'm not sure how much it actually helps keep your drink cool but I would imagine enough to make you think so. If I come back will definitely try other things on the menu.

Last Saturday 8/15/20 we made our first visit to Izzi 'Que and it won't be our last! You'll enter through a small dining area to get to the back tap room. They also offer an outdoor patio for dining or just enjoying a cold beer. We made ourselves at home in the tap room, arriving just before 6:30 and beating the crowd, by 7:15 this place was packed! Alex Drasser was performing live. Great food, awesome atmosphere and fantastic service. A great beer selection and long, welcoming bar!

One of the BEST PLACES TO EAT IN SHELBY! Atmosphere is amazing. Food is great! So of the best brisket I have ever had. Make sure to checkout the bar and the ICE rail. It keeps your beer and drinks cold.

I placed an order over the phone from my vehicle in front of the restaurant for a Brisket plate to go. I went into the restaurant waited 40 minutes for my food. When my food arrived I paid and went out to my car. I looked in my bag to make sure the order was correct. It was a sandwich I didn't order a sandwich. I Took the food back in and asked them what is this. They promptly took the food back to the kitchen. She returned with what I thought was my food. I opened the box and again I asked what is this. They informed me that they are out of brisket. I am like again no I didn't order this Chopped up food. When They took the sandwich to the kitchen took the bread off and gave it back to me. What kind of restaurant does that. The were trying to trick me or thought I was just that hungry I wouldn't notice that played me. I will not be going back.

Highly recommend Stretch Lab for services. As I'm getting older but still trying to stay active I'm realizing my flexibility is not what it used to be. My visit to Stretch Lab in Columbia was my first stop in an effort to increase my flexibility and sports performance. Danyelle was my strechologist and she really provided a great stretch plan tailored to me. Expensive but well worth it in my book. I'm signed up for my first three months!!!
