Hole in the wall vibe, good energy and surprisingly good customer service. This was my 1st time here and I wanted to try the oxtail and goat. The goat was seasoned to perfection.. the beef patty was my least favorite. The Oxtail was just ok. it was a little sweet for my tasted but it was tender. I paid $44 dollars including the tip for what you see here. I'll be back to try the jerk chicken and red snapper

Overall good authenticity Have found the Goat Roti to be below the mark as at times seems as if Goat In A Blender would be more descriptive as have found there to be more bone pieces than meat in the roti. Sure would be nicer to have a Goat Roti with just goat meat than goat bonesOverall good place with good foodWould like to see a improvement on less inedible large bone pieces in the rotis

I was so looking forward to this meal! I ordered thru Uber eats and am HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!I ordered a LARGE OXTAIL, rice and beans and cabbage.There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY this is a LARGE. Based on the pictures, I was cheated regarding my portion.As for taste, there is some flavor but the oxtails are a bit tough and could have been cooked longer. I AM AN OXTAIL FEEN!!! Places like this, make me very hesitant to support and try. UGH! I'll just stick to my other spot!

The food was good but not what I'm used to. Ordered the oxtails and stew chicken. Both came in a thick reddish brown soft. Not quite bbq but not Caribbean either. The large size was not that much bigger than the small size. The jerk chicken patty was extra light. The cocoa bread tasted like a plain roll. The cabbage was bland. Service was great! Food came out quick too. Food wasn't bad, just not traditional Caribbean flavors.

My family dined here the day after Thanksgiving. It was a great choice because it wasn't too busy and the food and service were on point. I enjoyed my curry chicken and we shared some extra sides of macaroni and cheese and fried okra. The drinks were also delicious and well presented. I highly recommend the Island Rum Punch! The reggae playing in the background was the final touch to our island escape. Don't miss the case full of island sodas!

I wanted some ackee and saltfish, so I decided to stop by and get some after my trader joes run. I ordered the ackee and saltfish with boiled yam, boiled banana, boiled dumplings, and a fried dumpling (the fried dumpling was fire). It's not the best that I've had, but I'm from Miami, so comparing food from the south to the food here isn't fair. But the food at island cuisine is solid. The new location is clean, with a bigger bar area. I always tell myself I should stop in for some drinks and just never made my way to it. The service like the food is inconsistent, but not bad. You just get the bare minimum. All things considered when the food is good it's really good. This is the only Jamaican restaurant I'll ever go to here in Charlotte!

Came in on a Saturday night with the taste for Jamaican food! Service was friendly, a little too friendly at times. Both my friend and I ordered the curry chicken, rice & peas, cabbage, and plantain and both agreed that it could use more flavor. Everything lacked a lot of salt from the curry to the rice & peas. I also took off a star because they were out of patties which was disappointing.

I have very mixed feelings on this spot... I'll start by saying the food was delicious!! I got the chicken curry , my husband got the curry goat. The food was fresh and authentic. The service was average but my issue was what was being played on the television. I would not bring children with me to this spot. The music videos playing were so in appropriate. We were only sitting in there while we waited for our food but that was 15 minutes too long. Not sure I would come back ...may give them one more shot but as bad as the music was it was not my scene.

For our date hubby and I choose to have Jamaican food and wanted to try something near us with outside seating. Island Cuisine was our choice. The restaurant is spacious and their AC works great. So we opted to sit outside since it was a beautiful day. I ordered a spinach Pattie for an appetizer. We also got oxtails, butter shrimp, rice and peas, spinach, cabbage and plantains. Ginger beer and sorrel to drink everything was delicious only thing rice and peas missing that coconut flavor and sorrel very sweet. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back.

My recent takeout was delicious. I ordered the Brown Stew Chicken with rice and peas, and cabbage. The chicken bursting with flavor and the rice and peas were a good side. The cabbage was a bit oily. The food was well-packaged, hot and fresh, and at a great price.
