Irie Nation Restaurant - South

I stopped by Irie Nation in Charlotte with a friend and ordered the Jerk Chicken with rice and beans, plus a side of steamed cabbage. The food was flavorful and well-prepared--the chicken was tender and falling off the bone, which I loved! My only critique is that there were a lot of back pieces, making it a bit tricky to navigate all the small bones. Still, the rich flavors more than made up for it. The service was quick and friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. I'll definitely be returning to try the oxtails next time!

I recently ordered takeout from Irie Nation and was impressed with the entire experience. I got the curry chicken, mac & cheese, and rice and beans. The food was perfectly cooked, with the temperature and spice levels just right. The portion sizes were huge--I was able to enjoy the meal for both lunch and dinner. It took about 15 to 20 minutes for the food to be ready, which was reasonable. The location does have limited parking, but the restaurant itself is very clean and well-maintained. Overall, a great spot for satisfying and flavorful Caribbean cuisine!

This is one of my favorite Caribbean restaurants on the south side of the city . I always get the BBQ Jerk chicken, cabbage, rice and beans, and chicken patty. The only thing that I'm not a huge fan of is they use the chicken back which has a lot of small bones. I still order this on a monthly basis though.Great prices, large portions, and consistent quality product! Can't go wrong with this spot. They are also on Doordash!

Another one of those reviews where I wish they had a half of a star. Visited this restaurant on the way home, while driving by and noticed that open sign was flashing in the window with no cars in the front. I always take that as a great sign to get Caribbean food quickly, because service can be dicey. But, I was pleasantly surprised as I walked into the restaurant, and was greeted by someone behind a glass counter about 3 or so minutes after I stepped up to the counter. Quick note, this place is in a bit of a sketchy strip mall with some questionable characters wondering around, but overall I felt safe. I ordered the fried chicken special with rice and peas and plantains, and the ox tails with yams and rice and peas. The ox tails weren't as tender as I would've preferred, but they were definitely serviceable. Fried chicken, similarly, middle of the road, especially given the fact that I asked the young lady how many pieces came on a small order and she said 3 to 5 , depending on the size. I got 3 drumstick sized thighs so a bit of a disappointment.

I'll start with the good... rice and peas were good and gravy sauce is good and food was ready relatively quickNow with the bad... the oxtails are NOT tender, I'm used to mine falling off the bone, the oxtails ain't got NO meat on the bone! And lastly I ordered olaintains too and paid with my card but when they called me to the counter to pick up my food they said they didn't have any plaintains so I ended up getting a drink even though I didn't want that I wanted the plaintains.Probably won't be back it really wasn't no meat on them oxtails chile.

Stopped by for pick up of a to go order on a Sunday around 11:15am. The area seems a lil sketchy but not too bad. There was only one customer in line before me. Ordering was quick and simple; oxtails with rice and peas and a side of Mac and cheese with a beef pattie. Total cost was $25.60. Within less than 5 mins my order was packaged and ready to go. I was hungry so I ate the beef pattie in the car. It was good - hot and fresh. When I got home and opened my food I was a lil disappointed in the quantity of oxtail. Now the rice was perfect & mac and cheese had great consistency and nice taste to it. The oxtail was savory with a lil sweetness to it. Could have been a cooked a lil more where the meat can come right off the bone. Overall a decent Jamaican spot! 3.7/5

First I thought I was ordering from the original irie nation (irie vibe) I order off Uber eats. I seen tryon so I absolutely thought it was the right location Nope the sign on the store front says irie nation on Yelp if your looking them up says Irie Vibe. Well after finding out I ordered at the wrong location I drove 8 miles got caught in traffic the spot is off Clanton rd the rice was not good (hard) and not flavored the curry was liquid No thickness no flavor I am and my stomach so disappointed but now I know

Omg the food is so delicious! And extremely fresh! The plantain and jerk chicken are my fave! I love they have the food freshly prepared. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Having Jamaican roots I was looking forward to some good jerk chicken but what I got was more like bourbon chicken the sauce was sweet. For me the jerk was not jerkin the best thing I had with regard to this meal I purchased was the pineapple ginger soda that I could have purchased from my local grocery store. First and last time going here I'd rather cook my own food at this point because that was disappointing.

I ordered the stewed chicken. It was very tasty. The flavor permeated the meat. Chicken was so juicy it fell off the bone. I would say that their food is like home made but I never made chicken this delicious.
