My toddlers loved our first visit. It was just what we needed on a rainy Saturday morning. Parking was free but it was packed. If you're coming for an event, you'll need to arrive early. The staff members at the welcome station were very helpful. They have a "stroller parking" area near the Storytime area. They also have nice and clean family bathrooms in convenient locations. We went to Family Storytime and it was awesome! The librarian was very friendly and engaging. The event is well attended so head over to the area about 5 minutes early. There are several chairs available but most parents & guardians sat on the floor. The Storytime included two books, a few song & dance sessions, a couple learning activities, and ended with a bubble party. Most kids were about 15 months- 4 years olds and they were all engaged. After story time we hung around in the library area to play with friends. Upstairs they have a tween area and books for sale. We didn't get a chance to check it out but we'll definitely be back.

A great rainy day activity for kids of all ages (actually fantastic in any weather). This huge library is filled with children's books, exhibits, computers, decorations, and rooms for story time. I attended a story time and was delighted at how interactive it was given that the age group was listed as 0-2. Story time involves the parents interaction, singing, dancing, and a bubble machine.. I didn't hear anyone crying. I checked out some books too. Such an easy process. Everyone is friendly and I felt very safe and welcomed. There is designated parking for ImaginOn but it is limited! I snagged a spot at 905 and by 910 they were completely filled. Plenty of pay to park garages on the same block though!

Phenomenal library and kid's library collection! This location has kid friendly exhibits and toys. The trolley and bus you can climb inside are very popular! The children's section is downstairs and the teen books area is upstairs. We went up and down the ramp to let kiddo explore. Beautiful art and amazing place! Parking deck under the building has limited space but it's free.

This is my 10-year old son's favorite spot in all of Charlotte! The best part, it is FREE! It's not just a library, it's also a really cool and interactive museum. They offer activities, which are posted on their website. My son loves the "teen loft" where he can play video games or use the computers for free. Parents are not allowed in the teen loft. There's plenty of seating around the center, so I can still be close by without being in the teen loft.Parking is in the basement of the building and can be validated. Staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely a must see in Charlotte!

There are so many things for kiddos to do here. The story times are great. The book selection is unbeatable. The only con is the communication is not always the best. My friend and I went to take our nanny kids to an advertised puppet show and when we arrived the attendant told us it was self directed, there was no actual show. But then as we were getting to leave an hour later, the puppet show DID happen - but an hour after the advertised time on the flyer. Seems a bit disorganized.Other than that, no complaints. Charges always have such a great time there!

I went to ImaginOn today with my wife and daughter for the first and was very impressed. This is such a cool place for kids to play and learn at the same time. After visiting and spending time with my daughter, I was almost wanting to be a kid again to be able to have fun. Nevertheless Charlotte-Mecklenburg library is doing an awesome job and definitely trying to get kids reading and learning. I hope as my daughter grows up she too will find that this place is great and that reading is cool!

Came here since it's the last day of the mr potato exhibition. It was emptied when we got here. It's a library and there's two different floors and play area for kids. There's drinks and snacks vending machine where you can get some snack and food if you get thirsty. There also theater in the library where you can pay to watch. Which was cool. Some of the toys are old and broken so it doesn't work, it was an educational day. Parking is free for the first 90 minutes with validation

This is a great place to entertain your toddler! Lots of hands on activities and toys for a rainy day or when it's too hot to be outside playing. The only downside is the parking lot is tiny and nearby lots are very pricey.
