I found a trail at this park on AllTrails and it looked nice so we decided to check it out. The beginning of the trail was really nice. It goes through a wooded area and down to the river. Then the trail suddenly becomes a disc golf course. Now the disc golf course seemed really nice, but I wouldn't recommend hiking a disc golf course. You're just in the way if people are playing. There's a nice lake later in the course. Overall, I'd recommend it for disc golf or maybe just to hang out at, but I wouldn't recommend walking through the disc golf course like AllTrails recommends.

On our park tour of the city we landed at Idlewild Road Park. This park is amazing. We only visited the playground area but loved it. The playground equipment is so cool. They have a bunch of really nice pieces I have never seen before. The playground is also huge. There is so many different areas to choose from. The only bad part is one piece of equipment isn't safe. My nephew decided to play incorrectly on the 4 person see saw piece and his foot got scraped up pretty bad. Make sure that your kids don't try to ride/sit/stand on the middle piece of the see saw. There were two groups grilling out at two different shelters close to the playground. They both surrounded the playground. The one thing that impressed me the most was how clean the restroom was. The restroom is super close to the playground too which is very convenient. This park is kinda far from me but I will definitely make the trip out here for the nibblings. This 125 acre park is one of Charlotte Mecklenburg's larger ones. It is well set back from the road and very peaceful. It features a full 1.5 mile nature trail as well as picnic shelters, a playground and two softball fields. Lots of parking.I sat here for a good bit with my coffee. Lovely and peaceful![Review 11329 overall, 1106 of 2019.]

Charlotte has so many parks! This is. Actually a nice park with plenty of nature, not the pretty scenery type parks that EVERYONE loves to go and take pictures at during the day. They have a decent play area for kids, a disc golf course, a pond that you can potentially fish, and a couple trails. This was my first time here as I was trying to find a less crowded area to take a walk during all these precautions with the virus. I will definitely go visit here more often.

We went to this park during vacation, and I would go again. Excellent park for playing disk golf, if you bring your own disk. (The first hole was behind the bathroom, which was hard to locate at first, but it was easy finding tees after that). There was also an impressive playground for kids. There was a small trash problem though. Each hole has a giant black trash bag, which hadn't been emptied in a while. Deducted 1 star for that.

Lots of cool playground equipment with shade past 4:00 PM. Beautiful trees and small grassy areas to sit on. Enjoy a nice evening with my family. Lots of stray kids playing and lots of adults in their cars. Some are napping and some are smoking pot.
