Had a great meal for dinner and great service. The sushi chef is from China and we had good conversation. The server who took my order was very nice and responsive. I sat at the sushi bar since I was alone on a business trip and overall I really enjoyed the meal. So much so that I am going back there to eat tonight!

A good friend and I frequently go to lunch at Ichiban. I would say 6-8 times in a year. We have always enjoyed our meals: shared sushi rolls and sashimi Usually a tuna roll, and then a special " roll of the day ". A good house salad starts us off. Then the rolls and then an order of sashimi The food is always right on target. We have never seriously thought about going somewhere else for sushi. Why would be - the restaurant has comfortable tables and booths. Add some sake. Well ...... two hours later and we're full and content

Good and bad experience. So they seated us where water was dripping on me and wouldn't move us. Then I found a hair in my food. They made me a new plate and it took forever for it to get to me. Everyone had already finished their food before I could eat. They did not comp the meal. It was just not the best experience for such a fancy-feeling place.

Good and service was excellent. Ambiance is very busy and noisy, but that is to be expected in the Teppan grill area. I loved it!

The food and service was great. We were able to get seated fairly quickly for a Saturday night! Delicious sushi, and the main entree was also super yummy! No complaints here!

In my opinion, the best hibachi in Asheville. The sushi is good as well. The lunch menu is much cheaper than the dinner menu.

Very cool experience! We got to watch the hibachi chef cook in front of us which was entertaining. He was very funny and interactive with our group. The food was very delicious and FILLING. We were absolutely stuffed and I could not finish my plate. It's quite expensive but a cool experience for every once in a while!

This place was great. We were up in the area for all of July and when it came time to meet up with some friends we figured the young kids (5-6) would enjoy the show. They totally did and I was pleasantly surprised by the food. The miso soup was excellent and FULL of stuff not just broth that sort of saw some miso and veggies like you get at other places. There were no noodles here, but seriously between the three of us (1 being a kid) I think we brought home 5 pounds of meat, veggies and rice and we were also stuffed leaving. The food was still great the next day or two as leftovers.Would happily go back!

Consistent experience and service. We have always enjoyed our menu choices. Even our pickiest eater thoroughly enjoys Ichiban.

We travel through Asheville several times a year. We 'stay local and eat local', but unfortunately we contacted 'Ichiban-flu' and I must say we've never experienced such intense food poisoning. On this occasion my wife and I 'enjoyed' a large meal, and dropped some serious cash, because we were exhausted and very hungry after our travels, but twenty minutes after eating we were both struck with intense pains, aches, and sweats followed by the inevitable gut-results. In a one-bath hotel room, it's no picnic - far from it. My wife was sick for about twelve hours and I had the pleasure of dealing with this thing for three days. As a result, we had to extend our stay in Asheville and make the necessary last-minute 'emergency' adjustments to our plans. All-in-all It's been a hellacious price to pay for mediocre sushi. So, Diners, you've been warned, you're rolling the dice at Ichiban. "ICHI-BYE,BYE" - never again.
