Where can I begin? I love dumplings! Just not these. Not sure what kind of meat that was, but didn't seem like pork (or chicken). The lo mein smelled STRONGLY of bell peppers-but there weren't any in the dish.. And the wonton soup- smelled like dish soap and tasted terrible! I threw it out. So disappointed.

This has been my go to Chinese food location for decades but something's changed with the food quality in the last year. I know it was after they added the new Thai menu. I visited three separate times and had different dishes but can honestly say todays chicken dish and spring roll were barely edible. I wanted to wait before writing this review to make sure I didn't just catch them on a bad day but I can only assume now that new management is involved and they have cut cost making food quality a low priority. I'll miss the beautiful dining room and the wonderful staff. The service has always been 5 stars. There is hole in wall place in Mooresville that makes a decent dish for carry out (Rice Fun) but house of Taipei used to be top in taste, freshness, quality, and service. You can judge for yourself by stopping by and just ordering a spring roll. The new ones have a " came out of the freezer" taste. Their old recipe made your mouth water with delight! I may try again in 2024 to see if they can the magic back...

Great food, friendly staff. We live their Moo Shoo Pork. I personally appreciate their willingness to accommodate my food allergy!

Ordered Honey Walnut Shrimp and General's Chicken. Not worth it. Both tasted bland and the fried rice was tasteless. I'm not sure what happened to them because they were very good in the past. Was there a change in ownership/management? My husband picked up the food and said they are very nice and friendly but we both agreed the food was not good.

The food was good but the wait for food was ridiculously long. The online ordering site said the order would be ready by 7:30. It was not ready until 8:10. They had a nice bar in the waiting area but no bar tender. Lots of lost revenue there...

Tried this place for the first time tonight. This is NOT honey walnut chicken. If you ordered it expecting the traditional dish, this is not the place where you should order. I did call to ask if it should be red. He said yes. I then asked if there should be red peppers in the dish and he said, "I don't know what's in it."With all the Chinese restaurants in our area, this is not one I will pick again.

We've been coming here for takeout for the last 15+ years and always bragged about how good the food was - at least one or two notches above other Chinese restaurants in the area. Today, my wife picked up some food and upon coming home realized that we got the regular (pork) dumplings instead of the vegetable panfried dumplings she ordered. The spring rolls were undercooked outside but the filling was mushy. Chicken with black bean sauce was good (not great as usual) and the hot sour also was decent, but previous versions have been the best. Overall a disappointment.

If i could out a zero i would. I'm deathly allergic to onions and the last time I had their chicken fried rice i asked for zero veggies and i found a whole onion in it. This time I was very specific in my notes saying how allergic i was. and what did I find again? Onions.

We have been eating at this restaurant for years. It was always our go to for Chinese food for our family. We recently went in on Sunday at 5 p.m. when they reopen from closing for lunch. We order Shrimp and broccoli with onions in garlic sauce because we know it has to be made when ordered because it's not on the menu. Immediately we noticed the food was not hot. We spoke to the manager and asked if there was a new cook. She stated "YES". I asked where is the owner or her daughter. We actually know them from coming here for years. She stated she was the owner. Oh wow new cook. and new management. She then stated food warm, still good. We didn't want to make a scene so we dropped it. We got home and my fiance was sick as a dog. Everything she ate came up. I then called the restaurant to let them know and same lady the new owner stated we have insurance for people like you. I said wow, you just lost a family who have been coming here for years. So please take Warning. They are using old food from lunch that they didn't sell and reselling it for dinner when they reopen. Health inspector should come on weekends when the reopen for dinner. The wrong food temperature will cause food poison.
