Thought I'd try this spot again after seeing some newer reviews that were on the positive side. This is not the best part of town and the building and parking lot here are small and more than a bit worn and tired - a perfect setup for actual hole-in-the- wall hot dog joint.I ordered 2 dogs with mustard, chili, and onions - no slaw on this return visit because poor slaw will destroy the rest of the hot dog! The service out of the kitchen was a bit slow and I was the only one in the place. The dogs were very, very good - 180 degrees from those I'd tried before, well over 10 years ago. The chili was very nice, a nice flavor, no hint of the sweetness encountered before. Nice quality wiener, toasted bun, nice amount of chili and chopped white onion.Those 2 dogs and a large bottled coke was less than $8!Ambiance - 0Food - 4.5Service - 2.5Value - 5

Swung by hotdog city on Memorial day after a drive from Kernersville with myself, my husband and the two darling children. Saw some quick reviews and thought we would give it a try. This is a walk in and takeout location. So you sit in your car and you wait for them to bring the food out. We should've called ahead, but we weren't aware of that being option. my husband had the Philly cheesesteak. Oh, I had the best Ruben of my life and the small people ate a hotdog and something else. Everyone was ecstatic about how amazing the fries were and you get a lot of fries. I loved my sandwich. Did I mention it was the best Ruben of my life.Strange little location, great service, go there you'll be happy.

By far one of The best Philly steak sandwich around now that even have different flavor lemonades today I went with the strawberry did not disappoint with little chunks of strawberries in them. Y'all may know by now, my favorite food is a hot dog. I'm always on the hunt for the best in the triad and Hot Dog City lived up to the hype. A true hidden gem slanging delicious hot dogs, Philly cheesesteaks, Rueben's , loaded fries, and other yummy dishes. We went with a few different hot dogs one of which had spicy mustard, charred onions, and BBQ sauce on it (The Manhattan), and their loaded Buffalo chicken cheese fries which were our favorite dish of the day! Already planning my trip back to try and fried okra and Rueben. The owners are such kind humans you'll want to support them. Trust me, this will be a new staple!

I'm glad I came here today, the hotdogs brought me here but the Philly cheesesteak caught my eye! This was so good meaty and cheesy, bread soft and toasted, fries seasoned to perfection. The staff was also great. I'll be back.

Definitely a hidden gem here in Winston-Salem! You have to travel a short distance outside the center of downtown to find Hot Dog City on the corner of Patterson and Glenn. There is parking right by the building. The ordering space inside is kind of cramped but there was some nice picnic benches out front where we waited on our food. Everything is made to order, so keep that in mind with wait times. No inside seating, so if the weather isn't cooperating, you'll want to take it to go.We were craving hot dogs and boy do they have options. Something worth noting - growing up in this area, I always recognized "all the way" on a hot dog as slaw, chili, onions and mustard. Theirs includes ketchup as well, and I am not a fan, so I'm glad I asked! They also asked if we wanted to add cheese to the all the way dogs which, we love the option to add cheese to anything! The hot dog has that classic toasted bun we all know and love! I will say, it is a good hot dog but not the best one I've ever had. The chili wasn't my favorite and it just overall didn't top some of the other hot dogs in the area for me. My friend ordered the Manhattan dog which had caramelized onions and a sauce which looked great. I definitely love the creativity! The winner of our visit was the loaded fries! We decided on the Buffalo chicken fries and wow. Packed to the brim with crispy fries, tons of chicken, ranch and Buffalo sauce. These fries hit just right! They also offered chili cheese and philly steak fry variations.Upon talking with the super kind lady working behind the counter, she said they're in the process of revamping their menu and would be adding more loaded fry options - YAY! I can't wait to come back and try more. Super affordable spot too.A gentleman leaving while we were eating said they had the best fried okra in the world, and another recommendation suggested the Reuben! Lots of options here, check it out!

It has been approximately 3 years since I've had anything from them. The food didn't disappoint. It was super good. They also give very good portions. I highly recommend trying these guys out. They stay super busy; you might want to call ahead.

Y'all. If you are looking for quick, friendly service and well seasoned takeout, this is the place. I stopped in here after work and got two different hot dogs and the fish sandwich and all three were DELICIOUS! The topping selection is huge and the dogs themselves are a knockout. Not to mention the batter on the fish sandwich is perfectly crispy and flavorful. To top it all off, they had very reasonable prices that allow you to try a nice variety of their menu without breaking the bank! Absolutely will be picking up food from here again.
