Hoshi Express

Traveling through Lincolnton for business & wanted something besides fast food & chain restaurants. Came across this unassuming place right off the main road. Honestly it surprised me with the quick drive through service and the quality. My chicken & scallops combo was an extremely generous portion with large scallops plus it was tasty too. The portion size could've easily fed 2 people. This is a little gem in Lincolnton.

For a drive thru Japanese place this was yummy . I ordered the teriyaki chicken and rice. It is served with carrots. The carrots seemed to come out of a can but they were tasty. The prices are higher than what is listed here on yelp but I won't complain. The food was delicious.

The dining room has been closed ever since COVID. We can not do take out due to the distance to drive home! They have lost our business.

My bonus sister and i ate here on vacation in Washington DC.Lots of good food. Great sushi and they were able to accommodate our party of over 30.

Always polite and order is right every time,, I would totally recommend trying something here if you like Japanese food.

My wife and I have driven by Hoshi for years but never stopped in to eat. After eating there twice in 2 weeks it is quickly becoming one of my local favorites. We were there at off time (2-3:00pm) but the service was quick and they food was prepared fresh in a couple minutes. My wife always gets the low carb option (veg instead of rice - $1.00 extra) and it was fresh and prepared correctly. I have had the steak with low carb prepared rare and the udon noodles with steak and both were excellent. My wife had the salmon one visit and teriyaki chicken another and she loved both dishes. Egg rolls are standard fare, but were freshly fried to order.Each meal comes with a 4oz shrimp sauce which is more than enough. Restaurant was clean and service was excellent.

Wow, I do not get the hype. I expected this place to blow my socks off after reading all those 5 star reviews. "Best Japanese I've ever had"? It wasn't really even Japanese food. More like fast food Hibachi. The jumbo shrimp were of pretty good quality, so I'll give it that extra star.Besides the jumbo shrimp, it was pretty quick as well, not much else positive I could say. The "brown sauce" on the hibachi was extremely salty. The mushrooms weren't even cooked(button mushrooms are slightly toxic and indigestible when not cooked), the carrots were so sweet they tasted like candy and not really much to say about the rice either. All that said, the shrimp weren't half bad.Yet again, no clue why this place gets so much love. I might try it again, but doubtful.

I am in love with this place the gentleman are always personable and friendly and they never complain about my "custom" orders. They seem to be a very clean place from what I can tell and their food has never made us sick afterwards like other places. Their food is delicious!! I would recommend this to anyone. I just spent $60 today for dinner and a gift card for Christmas. It is worth it. Thank you for being fantastic!

First time trying this place and it is so good. Called in my order and picked it up through the drive thru. Plenty of food and so delicious!

Great food and quick service. The workers are bilingual to assist a variety of people.
