Hometown Restaurant

stopped in after meeting on sunday a couple weeks back and found a new restaurant here. I was hoping for something that wouldn't mess my shirt and chicken and waffles on recommendation seemed a safe choice even though this combination has been something of a disappointment in my few years residing in the south but it goes well with coffee so why not..?turns out the waitress is the cook today (or the other way around maybe?) and she's awful proud of the new waffle makers and is encouraging folks to try the special today because it's special to her... and it shows :-)asked for coffee and icy water while I waited but it wasn't long before a plate arrived with five moist tenders surrounding a fluffy waffle, lightly dusted plus mac and cheese on the side in its own dish. fruit puree or flavored syrup might have improved the bird chunks and waffling but it was a new item on the board and sometimes you don't think of it until later so maybe next time? regardless, lunch was quite good and my server pleasant and attentive start to finish so I'm sure I'll be back as time and temper permits.it's still kinda like the old place except with waffles, and chicken and a new name; still got a bunch of food options but not too many and the seating is more uniform in style and appearance which is kinda nice too :-)

The food and service were fine but there was a political sign at the register for Trump and I politely told the server that I would never patronize their establishment again. Businesses, especially newly established ones should never post political banners as they risk alienating a significant portion of their potential customers.

Food is okay. One time it can be really good then the next visit we order the same food and it is just okay. I have heard good things about their breakfast from friends.
