I have come here two weekends in a row to run. On these cold Carolina mornings it has been quiet with very few others walking or biking the trial. It is somewhat scenic and I think it would be awesome to launch a canoe or kayak from here. There's plenty of parking and it's a good place to come and get some exercise.

Just off I-40 where it intersects US-321, which I pass through often between Asheville and Charlotte. I haven't stopped here before so this was a nice bit of fresh air and walking around in Hickory. This is a huge recreational facility with lots of sporting opportunities. I spotted the massive 8000-square-foot picnic shelter which amazingly has a catering kitchen and a playground. There are also restrooms, picnic tables and grills. The park has TEN soccer fields that look quite professional with night lighting. [Review 15398 overall, 901 of 2021, number 2948 in North Carolina.]

It is right off the I-40. Great place to get your workout in. Cute area for kids to play for a bit as well. Bathroom aren't too bad either. It's a good place to go on a sunny day!

The park is nice but why won't they put the lights on for the people wanting run or play soccer with friends? It gets dark around 6pm and they close at 9pm. What the point of those extra three hours if it's all dark and no one can see? What if I get injured on my run? Don't just turn the lights on for the coaches! Turn it on for every one! It's a public park!
